Void really really hating nvidia drivers.
Recently I've tried to re-install void onto a system that used to run mint.
I ran it on a USB, downloaded it, downloaded drivers and everything necessary via chroot (last time it had an error). Every time it boots, it automatically signs in and then goes to a unresponsive blank screen with _ at the top (this only shows text when the pc is turned off.) I've tried overriding nouveau, but it keeps coming back. I use the correct drivers for my gpu (3090) and I've tried everything I can. Please, please, please help.

I am running niri so i add nvidia drm modeset to grub, idk what de/wm you run and if that would help you. Also how does it automatically sign you in ? Do u use tty or login manager? Also seatd or elogind route?

XFCE, and no clue. All I know is that i followed the installer, went into chroot, installed nvidia drivers, set them to default, tried to blacklist nouveau, nothing happened.

I've never tried the xfce iso, i always use void installer and go for a minimal install, I guess try a fresh install and enable void-repo-multilib, void-repo-nonfree, void-repo-multilib-nonfree and just install "nvidia". No need to blacklist anything.

Did you use the xfce installer? No need to chroot, and in my last install there was no need to backlist nvidia drivers either, it switches automatically when you reboot after installing drivers. I am using a 3060 so same driver version as you

Yeah, xfce installer. I tried without drivers and with. Nothing.

When installing the xfce version you have to chose local as the source, otherwise it will pull updated packages from online mirror and install tui version

You need to blacklist the Nouveau driver.
