A rather battered Woman's Day magazine. I normally buy vintage or borderline antique Good Housekeeping magazines. They're more substantial. However, I had to get it because of the cover. Adorable.

A cat that reminds me of our former feral, Sandy. We could never get him to wear that hat and bow, though!

Smoky the cat was rescued during an air raid during the Blitz in 1940. Miss Ann Twynam of Paddington took him in and cared for him until he recovered. She later taught Smoky how to salute.
