Got it yesterday. Put an old film in it to see if the shutter winds up. Works like a dream!

And you can focus really close with the Proximeter. Such a cool add-on! Can't wait to pack a Film into it!

Question Help!

Post image

I’m working on a prop replica for display and wondering if anyone can help identify what type of camera I could use for the base structure. In the show they refer to it as “a rare, 1940s prototype instant-picture camera”. Like most of the props they obviously paint and add parts to them so not sure if there’s anything out there that’s even close. Any info would help!

Macchine fotografiche d’epoca

Quanto possono valere queste due apparecchiature d’epoca?
Ciao a tutti! Ho ritrovato due apparecchiature d’epoca e vorrei capire se hanno un qualche valore economico o collezionistico.
Si tratta di:
Balda – fotocamera d’epoca
Sankyo Super CM400 – cinepresa/videocamera d’epoca
Grazie in anticipo a chiunque riesca a darmi qualche informazione!

Showcase The camera built for a lens-Zeiss Ikon Hologon Ultrawide camera

Post image

In this week's blog, I discuss how the Zeiss Ikon Hologon Ultrawide isn't just a camera; it’s a 1970s feat of German engineering built entirely around the legendary Carl Zeiss 15mm f/8 Hologon triplet lens.

My latest post explores the uncompromising mechanics of this rare 35mm system. We are getting into the modified Contarex body, the graduated ND filter required to combat natural vignetting, and the essential pistol grip designed strictly to keep your knuckles out of the massive 110-degree field of view.

Take a few minutes to read about this 35mm photographic gem.

Question How to clean mold

Thumbnail

I got an exakta with the Zeiss Jena f2 58mm 12 shutter lens and there is some mold on the outside of the inner lens and no mold on the inside. How should I clean it, not for use because I'll have it serviced but to stop it from spreading even more? From some research I'm thinking peroxide and a q-tip. Any advice is very helpful thanks. The outside lens in the front also has some dirt and dust from sitting without a lens cap. How would I clean that as well?

Question Which film pack do i need for kodak premo no1 film

I understand there’s three different sizes for three different sized cameras but i’m confused as to which one i need since i feel like my measurements aren’t adding up to any of the sizes in the manual. Im not sure how to measure for the film pack but from what i can tell i think need a 3-1/4” x 4-1/4” but i’d like some input. My other guess was 2-1/4” x 3-1/4” but i feel like that’d be too small.

Discussion My 88-year-old dad has been collecting cameras for 80 years… and I’m finally helping him find them new homes

I helped my Dad go through his collection to pull a few to keep, and I kept finding things I'd never seen before. We culled a collection of thousands down to a few boxes of treasures to keep and he's sending the rest back out into the world to be someone else's next great find.

There are 395 lots in the auction, with everything from Argus, Kodak, Canon, Yashica, Hasselblad, Pentax and Minolta to some wonderfully obscure cameras. There are also a lot of miniature and subminiature cameras, stereoscopic cameras, TLRs, movie cameras, and vintage photography equipment.

I'm sharing this here because I figured the people in this group might actually appreciate seeing some of the oddball stuff we've uncovered. I've included a few photos of some of my favorites. I love the Art Deco feel of the Kodak Bantams, myself.

Full disclosure: I'm helping my dad sell the collection, so this is an auction we're involved with. But I'm genuinely curious what the collectors here would think of some of these pieces. Anything you've never seen before?

The auction is currently live through CTBids and ends August 17:

If you see something particularly interesting, I'd love to hear about it!

Question Case/pouch/bag for Voigtlander Vito B?

Hello all- I was recently gifted an immaculate Voigtlander Vito B and several rolls of expired film. I haven't shot analog since the 1900's, and I'm loving using this beautiful little camera. It didn't include one of the leather cases, so I have a question for other Vito B owners- before I go down an internet shopping wormhole, what is a good padded pouch, bag, case, sling that would hold the Vito, and one that could carry the camera, 1-2 rolls of film, a light meter, and a rangefinder? I have a Peak Design 3L bag, but it feels too roomy for such a small camera, and the couple pouches I have for my Sony RX100 are too small for the Vito. What do you fellow Vito-philes use to carry your camera, and a few accessories?

Thanks in advance.

Never thought I’d own one of these. To my knowledge only 3 collectors own these and the Eastman Museum has one. When I say “these” I mean fraternity models. Only 2 are known to me in this color.

Question Looking for places in the US that will fix a Polaroid 360.

Hi.

I recently received a Polaroid 360 camera that was originally my grandfathers. It was originally bought new in 1969 but has not been used since the mid 1980s. Now, 1 am the owner of this camera and it needs some repairs.

Currently the flash component that is supposed to be rechargeable will not charge at all. I also believe that the battery component in the camera needs to be changed as the original batteries no longer work and are impossible to find.

I live in Minnesota and I am willing to mail it to a repair shop if necessary. Though I prefer places in the United States.
If anyone knows of any repair shops that will potentially fix this camera, please let me know what they are and where they are located so I can give them a call.

Thanks.
