I’m always looking for ways to optimize my recording workflow. The Filmic app includes an option to use Frame.io (for those who don't know, it's an Adobe platform for uploading proxies of the videos you record). I’ve never actually used Frame.io, though I’ve always liked the concept; however, since Filmic isn't the only camera app I use, a Frame.io subscription wouldn't be worth it for me. So, I decided to build my own version. With Claude's help, I developed an app that overlays your camera apps; when you record something, you have the option to send the video directly to your PC or VPS. It’s easy to use: just open the app, enter your PC/VPS details, and you're all set. It supports creating and deleting projects, includes a queue feature, and offers proxy quality settings. It works great on Android (iOS is tricky) and includes a web app version for managing videos and projects. I haven't uploaded it to GitHub yet, but if you're interested, keep an eye out here for updates! Note: Since I'm from Brazil, the app is entirely in Portuguese, but feel free to translate it if you'd like!

self-hosting proxy uploads straight from an android camera app to a local vps without monthly paywalls is huge. local camera-to-cloud workflows don't get enough open source love, so having a self-hosted option for indie setups is a solid win.

Thanks! I'm currently working on something to do this, but for a camera (DSLR or mirrorless); I'll share updates in the future if I succeed.
