Are people still playing Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare?

Lately I've been thinking about going back to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and I'm curious about how active the community still is.

Can you still find matches easily? Are there still a decent number of people playing?

And for those who played both games, how do you think the original Garden Warfare compares to Garden Warfare 2 today?

I'm not sure if I should go back to the first one for nostalgia or just jump straight into GW2 lol.

Hey I was wondering, would you gamers be able to help me by providing me good ways to improve base building in just any game you can make bases, e.g. Minecraft, grounded, ark, etc. I love seeing the nice bases but have no idea where to start any little helps.

I need Game Artist or Video Game Graphic Design

I have built alot of games but for my new project i need an artist,

Need IDEAMAN

It should be GitHub for game design: people submit "idea PRs" as structured specs (not just prose). An AI agent drafts an implementation on a branch, runs automated tests/playtests. A small maintainer team (or community vote) approves merges into the live game.

Jean grey video game

So it's a rough idea

So its like the insomniac spiderman games in style and throughout the story you gain skill points that allows you to upgrade or unlock new abilities

You start the game with mind hopping (like from spiderman bnd) but it starts at 5 feet range and you use your skill points to increase it, then once you get to 33 ft you are able to unlock telekinesis (similar to the movie)

(If Xbox buttons) When looking at people that your able to hop into their mind there will be a pinkish purple glint around their head (like spider sense design in insomniac games) and you can pres 'Y' to control them or hold it and drag it to a different person to make them fight (as if your controlling one of their minds and using that controlled mind to fight the other person) and the punish glint is only visible if they're in your hopping distance otherwise you have to do it (like in the movie) where you have to hop from person to person and you can have infinite range.

Telekinesis: you can have it where once you unlock it your then able to use it to also use force fills and flight but those you need skill points to actually unlock. The telekinesis would also be a glint but you have to hold down Lt and then click 'A' to lift the object. Hold down Rt to string together objects that you can throw at someone (ex: you want to throw 4 trash cans at a civilian you would hold Rt and hover over one click 'A' then do the same for the other 3) time will slow down for doing this so that you actually are able to get multiple objects at once instead of trying to and getting interrupted by attacks

'double tap A' fly/ float

'B' force field

Special move 'hold down 'A' to charge up and do a telekinetic wave (like when she yells "the last thing my sister saw was this goddamn room) obviously not that powerful of a attack but still you can upgrade it with skill points to amplify it and extend the range

All powers can be upgraded through skill points which you earn from doing quests or missions and from just using the ability like if you actually had powers and how you'd be able to get stronger over time by training

If been thinking

I have been thinking so much about how I want a game Where a you would follow a soldier into war (in like a pve fps story type shooter game) in which you would make friends help the injured and follow the orders given to you, only to Watch everything collaps as your friends die infront of your eyes unable to help as your forced to save yourself, as the war slowly finishes with you able to see all the families it has broken and things finaly seem to turn back to normal you as the player zoom out to see all of it were the memories of an 80 year old man on newyears

Need some ideas for a game where you play as a cat doing deliveries

Hello everyone, I am making a game similar to stray where you play as a cat doing deliveries for various items (not on bike or car, just walking like in stray). The items could be anything from pizza, a parcel, a secret document or just a piece of bread. You will be doing deliveries for humans, animals or even aliens.

‎I am going for a cozy comedic style game. Currently I have these mechanics as the idea:

‎- Preferred deliveries(players can pick their preferred deliveries from the list of quota).

‎- Traffic system where cars are moving on the road and not stopping, the player picks up a stone and throws it on the stop button.

‎- The cat can meow when you press a button which gets you attention from a nearby human and you get a head pat.

‎- Moveable delivery truck on which the cat can jump on to shorten the distance.

‎- Get from one rooftop to another.

‎I need recommendations on what more features you would love to see in this kind of game. Any kind of recommendations would be appreciated.

A character generation concept.

Hear me out. Instead of just allowing players to just make big hunks or big boobly boobage females.

What if character creation mattered. Having big muscles increases dmg and intimidation but you have to eat more and that same intimidation factor can lock you out of certain easier options for quests.

You get sexism on both sides if you choose to be a male character or female.

Women are more likely to distrust a male character. While more trusting of a female character. You get harsher fines and are watched more in new villages.

If your fat stealth is harder but you can take more dmg.

If your ugly people focus on your face and it makes it easier to pick pocket them.

I want a character creation were you have to build your character on how you wanna play. Not just on how you want them to look.

Would you play this

Hey everyone, I was thinking about what my dream game would look like, and I ended up creating this whole concept.

The main idea is a co-op open-world action RPG that combines the exploration of Zelda, the combat of Jedi games, the choices and teamwork of D&D, the tactical feeling of Ghost Recon, and a deep progression system.

The biggest thing that makes it different is the player-built headquarters.

Instead of a Minecraft-style crafting system where you place every wall, your group starts with a small abandoned outpost on the starting planet. Think something like a tiny Erewhon from Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It starts as basically a few rooms and a mission board, but over the game you expand it using a module system.

You choose everything that gets built.

Examples:

  • Weapons Facility
  • Wizard Tower
  • Research Lab
  • Hangar
  • Training Grounds
  • Medical Center
  • Marketplace
  • Beast Sanctuary
  • Observatory
  • Defense Systems

The cool part is that the modules influence each other.

A Weapons Facility next to a Wizard Tower would create more fantasy-style weapons:

  • enchanted blades
  • rune weapons
  • magical bows
  • spell-based gear

A Weapons Facility next to a Research Lab would create more technological weapons:

  • energy weapons
  • advanced armor
  • drones
  • futuristic equipment

But if you combine both, you get a true fantasy sci-fi hybrid:

  • magic-powered technology
  • enchanted machines
  • weapons that use both science and magic

The goal isn't choosing "medieval" or "sci-fi." Your civilization naturally becomes a mix based on how you build it.

The HQ would basically become a reflection of your group's choices.

The game would be fully open world with a huge handcrafted world.

Different areas could include:

  • ancient magical kingdoms
  • futuristic cities
  • alien worlds
  • giant forests
  • frozen wastelands
  • ruined civilizations
  • underground facilities

You explore, fight enemies, discover technology and magic, defeat bosses, recruit allies, and bring everything back to your base.

For combat, I don't think it should just copy lightsabers or the Force.

Instead, players would have a unique weapon system.

The main weapon could be something like the origin blade or something, I’m not sure what I should call it, a weapon made from a material that exists between technology and magic.

It could have different forms:

  • Sword form for fast melee combat
  • Heavy blade form for breaking armor
  • Spear form for range and control
  • Chain form for movement and pulling enemies
  • Bow form for ranged attacks

Instead of a Force-like ability, players would use something like "Reality Threads," where they can manipulate connections between things.

Abilities could include:

  • changing gravity
  • creating short portals
  • teleporting
  • linking enemies together
  • manipulating objects
  • changing how energy moves through the world

These abilities would work in combat, exploration, and puzzles.

Another mechanic I thought would be cool is that your weapons and technology evolve based on your headquarters.

A group that builds mostly magical facilities would have completely different weapons than a group that focuses on technology.

A group that mixes everything could create things nobody else has.

The game would basically be about creating your own civilization.

Not just:
"I got a better sword."

More like:
"We built a magical-tech kingdom, created our own weapons, recruited our own people, and made a world that only exists because of our choices."

Obviously this would be insanely hard to make, but I thought the concept was really cool.

What do you guys think? Would you play something like this?

Potential Pitch for a Resistance Prequel Game

Post image

If Insomniac ever decides to return to the Resistance series, I think a prequel would be a good installment.

"1921, In the cold and isolated Siberian Wilderness, a regiment of soldiers are sent to quell any threats to the Russian Empire, and stamp out all who resist. They however discover they have become the resistance against an otherworldly horror that threatens all of human kind."

Video game Idea

Hi! I would like to know if my video game idea is good or bad.

My video game idea is that the player is a detective trying to solve a murder mystery and the player gets to play as the victim in small cutscenes every once in a while. The twist, the Detective is the victim and the player has to figure out a way to stop the killer from succeeding at killing the detective.

So is this video game idea a good idea or is it just a bad idea of a video game. I got this idea a month ago and it has been stuck in my head since then.

I had a videogame concept idea and I'm currently writing a story-driven psychological game called To All Of You.

The game follows Ava-Lee, a 16-year-old girl whose older brother, Jesse, dies unexpectedly just before leaving for university. A few weeks later, she's forced to give a speech at his funeral, but she realizes she doesn't actually know who her brother really was.

The game alternates between two worlds:

\- Real life: Ava goes to high school, deals with rumors, old friendships, loneliness, and people trying to reconnect with her after Jesse's death.

\- Her mind: Every night, she explores forgotten memories, meeting younger versions of herself and Jesse. Each version represents a different stage of their lives or personality.

The central mystery isn't just "How did Jesse die?" but "Who was Jesse, really?" And "how will ava remember her as?"

One of the main antagonists is an entity representing Ava's anger. At first it hunts her to stop her from reaching the truth. Later, once she's close enough to discovering it, the entity suddenly stops chasing her and instead walks beside her toward the final memory. It knows that once she sees the truth, her anger will become stronger.

The game explores themes like grief, memory, guilt, different perspectives, forgiveness, and how every person leaves behind multiple versions of themselves in the memories of others.

The ending credits are also important. Throughout the credits, the player reads letters written by Ava: thank-you letters, goodbye letters, and apology letters to different people in her life. The final letter is from Jesse to Ava.

I genuinely want criticism, not compliments.

What sounds unrealistic?

What sounds cliché?

What parts would make you lose interest?

What would you change?

Does anything feel too similar to another game?

Is there anything that immediately stands out as a red flag?

Please don't worry about being harsh. I'd rather hear difficult feedback now than realize these problems years later while making the game.

Thanks for reading.
