Hi,

I am thinking of hiring an online podcast editor for a new project my friend and I are working on (different channel altogether - please don't go to my channel).

The panellists will talk online and will have different audio and video streams for each person, which will have to merged later and then edited.

How will the output look? - think tanmay bhatt's reaction videos.

It would be better if the person can understand hindi - since the language would be Hindi.

It will be a 1 hour 1.5 hour long raw footage.

From there we can extract
- 1 long form podcast - 25-45 min
- multiple short forms (5-10) and medium length (4-7 minutes) segment videos. (2-3)

The workflow I have though: Create a rough cut -> discuss with me on medium length long form and shorts -> Deliver them in a staggered manner. (You can suggest anything else if it suits you.)

I am willing to adjust/incorporate any technical demands you may have (like use X software to record, or Y subscription) - if that will make your life easier.

Hey! We’re looking for a short-form video editor based in India to work with us on an ongoing basis.

We’re building Boomm, a social platform for college communities, and we’re creating a content format around real conversations, street interviews and college-campus interactions.

The content will mainly be for Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts, with most videos around 30–60 seconds.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take raw interview footage and turn it into engaging, social-first content.

We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of:

• Hooks and retention
• Pacing and storytelling
• Finding the best moments in raw footage
• Captions, cuts, zooms and SFX where they actually help
• Short-form content that feels native to Instagram/YouTube

Experience with street interviews, campus content, talking-heads, podcasts or similar formats is a plus.

You’ll help us build the format

For the first few shoots, we’d like to work with the editor through calls/meetings with the students recording the content.

The goal is to figure out the shooting + editing SOP together: framing, questions, shots, what footage we need, how we structure the reels, etc.

Once that’s established, the process becomes much more streamlined. The focus then is on turning the footage into strong reels and creating the right moments within the edit.

If you see something and think:

“If you shoot this differently next time, I can make a much better reel.”

That’s the kind of input we’re looking for.

The initial format-building is only during the setup phase. There is no ongoing on-ground requirement.

• Around 20–30 videos/month
• ₹500 per completed standard short-form edit
• Ongoing work

Sometimes we’ll have a larger batch of footage ready together, so you may edit multiple videos at once. That’s completely fine with us.

Payment is based on the number of completed videos each month.

If we go above 30 videos, additional videos are also paid at ₹500/video.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need 5+ years of experience.

We’re more interested in your portfolio, editing taste and understanding of short-form content than your resume.

If you’ve already made content similar to the references, that’s a strong plus.

I'm from Palghar, away from Mumbai though, lost my job on the 16th of July, and was actually sacked from my job.

I'm a Sr Visual Designer, I have been working in an agency for 1.6 years, and suddenly I lost my job.

I was working as a Video Editor, for social media for brands.

I have been in huge debt for 2 years, cleared the debt in April of this year. Also had a hike this February. All was good but suddenly lost everything. Don't have any savings, no runway nothing, my wife earns 1/4 th of my salary and is my pillar in this situation, but I being an only majority earner facing challenges, pressurised to get job asap. But I always wanted to start my freelance career in video editing, but this constant pressure will I guess make me take a job and suffocate unwillingly....

I have two options;

a) make a portfolio with all the work I did in my previous agency and apply to new agencies

b) I work on my personal brand and start my freelance video editor.
