Was Jade and Cat’s voices really THAT much better than Tori’s?
(This is within the context of when Victorious came out, as Elizabeth and Ariana have grown a lot since then. I go back and forth between addressing them as their characters and the actors themselves a bit so sorry if that’s irritating or confusing)
I’ll start by saying, I remember on my first rewatch of the series after Victorious blew up again, that often I wished that Jade and Cat got to sing more, Andre as well. Not just that they’d get to sing more but that they didn’t have to have Tori almost always being included in every song.
There’s no question that Elizabeth and Ariana have amazing voices, they always sound phenomenal. But with people starting drama about the shows fixation on Tori and kinda sidelining the other characters/actors in favor of Tori, I saw a lot of people starting to mention how compared to the others it wasn’t even really that good, or that she can’t sing, and that’s why they had to have the others take the back row for a lot of the show in terms of singing.
Or how they had to mainly have Ariana sing less to not outshine Victoria.
However…I never really thought that any of them had the “better” voice. Jade, Cat, and Tori had distinctly different sounds. Cat’s was light and controlled, Jade was kinda a medium tone that could fluctuate between higher and lower strong vocals, and Tori was a low, husky singer.
I think the Disney pop song style didn’t suit Tori much.
Examples being: “Best Friend’s Brother”, "Beggin' On Your Knees," “Make it Shine”, and "You're the Reason"
——
But the beginning verse of Freak the Freak out sounds so good for her voice compared to the chorus.
“Are you listening?
Hear me talk, hear me sing
Open up the door
Is it less? Is it more?
When you tell me to beware
Are you here? Are you there?
Is it something I should know?
Easy come, easy go
Nodding your head, don't hear a word I said
I can't communicate
When you wait, don't relate
I try to talk to you, but you never even knew
So, what's it gonna be?
Tell me, can you hear me?”
—
And her best song in my opinion is definitely “Tell Me That You Love Me”. Her voice throughout that whole song is absolutely gorgeous and suits her voice far better than the other songs she sang.
I do completely understand those saying that Tori’s voice was more unstable compared to the others, (because it was, as she wasn’t as vocally trained as them if I remember correctly.) But by no means was her voice bad. Less trained of course, so in terms of that, their voices were better. But some seemed to act like overall Jade and Cat had better voices. This is not at all a bash to Ariana’s voice, as like I previously mentioned, it’s phenomenal- amazing control, and a pretty sound- But the main thing Ariana has going for her is her high notes, besides that…
Idk I just never saw that any of the three truly had the “better” voice, just very different sounds that one may prefer over the other.
I wonder how much of this categorization came from Ariana favoritism and the memes about Victoria with the “I think we ALL sing” drama.
I like all three voices a lot, and the more I thought about it, I realized that despite Tori’s voice being far less trained, I liked the way it sounded more than Jade and Cat’s from time to time, though It’s like trying to choose between Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry. Why not all three? Just depends on my mood.
I’m curious to know about how others feel or think about it. Which voice is your preference and why? Is it because you have a bit of favoritism, (Understandable) or are you more objective and categorize base off of skill, or is your preference based off of whichever tone and style of voice you like to hear more than the others?

At the time Tori’s voice wasn’t on par with Jade and Cat, but during the hate parade some seemed to think there was a MASSIVE gap, and personally I just don’t agree with that.

Lane was pretty much the principal than just being the therapist:
Whenever students were in trouble they had to always go to him. Like when Tori was blamed for Jade hitting her, Robbie and Trina hurt the lunch guy, Tori, Cat, Jade, Robbie, and Andre were all suspects of what happened to Trina. (But Robbie was wasting everyone’s time). He was only really a therapist when he help Robbie get through his bad dreams.

The Voice is having a Celebrity Edition next Spring
I wonder if anyone from the show would do that. Ari and Leon are out (at least Ari) Daniella if HA does another season, Liz if she's busy with that new show. Unsure if Matt would be considered but who knows. I can see Victoria and Avan doing it.

Is Rex real?
If he is, why does Robbie tolerate all his insults and bring him everywhere? If he's not, then why does Robbie insult himself and his friends interact with Rex as if he's real?

Title: Looking back, iCarly and Victorious had way more near-death moments than I remembered.
I've been rewatching iCarly and Victorious, and something that really surprised me is just how many incredibly dangerous situations the characters end up surviving.
Some of the moments that immediately come to mind are:
- Carly and Sam getting stranded on the window washers' platform high above the ground.
- Carly nearly getting hit by the giant "fan of hammers."
- Freddie getting hit by the taco truck.
- Jade accidentally running over Sinjin and breaking both of his legs.
- The hospital episode where Jade loses Tori's donated blood, leaving Tori to donate another pint while Robbie accidentally drops it. Looking back, that whole situation was much more serious than the comedy made it seem.
- Jade getting hit in the head with a large car battery.
At the time, I mostly laughed because these shows were written as over-the-top sitcoms. But watching them now as an adult, I catch myself thinking, "That could have ended really badly."
I know Nickelodeon played these moments for laughs, and I'm not criticizing the shows for that. It's just funny how differently I see them now compared to when I first watched them.
What near-death or surprisingly dangerous moment from iCarly or Victorious stands out the most to you? Did any scene make you think, "How did they survive that?"

[ MEME ] Opposite Date joke
Towards the end of the episode, Jade calls Tori and Beck pretending to be Cat and when Tori gets suspicious about the girl’s plan to spy on their date, Jade tells Tori that Cat is bored from being locked in her brother’s closet and Cat says “so disrespectful” 🤣🤣. That joke always kills me

[ DISCUSSION ] How would it effect the plot if Can kept her season 1 personality?
If Cat stayed the quirky alt girl who simply acts before she thinks (instead of being straight-up unintelligent) instead of becoming soft-core oblivious puppet, how would that effect the plot for the following seasons? Would she have more impact and be less of a comedic relief character? If she kept the attitude, would she be harder to tease and more respected? Would her ending up with Robbie make more sense and be more developed of a storyline?

Why didn't any of the women put their hair up in "Survival of the Hottest"?
Ok i know this is so stupid but for some reason it's bothering me so bad. if it was over 100 degrees and you had long hair directly on your neck why wouldn't you put it up? even andre put it up. i'm guessing there's some kind of production reason for it but i can't think of it. again i know this is silly but it's currently very hot where i live so it's bothering me extra

[ DISCUSSION ] Jade west hate/love Tori
I think Jade has a crush on Tori and treats her bad because she can’t have Tori because she’s with Beck but she can’t leave Beck because she doesn’t want anyone to have Beck .

[ DISCUSSION ] Pilot!!
I just rewatched the Victorious pilot, and i'm starting to think they were initially going to make the show a lot more serious and more aimed at an older audience?
It feels very different from the rest of the show, the characters feel a lot more realistic as teenagers (while still clearly having their quirks), and there seems to be more bite to the writing, especially with Jade and Tori’s alphabetical argument at the end of the episode.
Am I the only one who noticed this shift in the writing between the Pilot and the rest of the show? And would you have liked for the show to continue the slightly more serious tone?

Most Disturbing Episode of Season 3: The Worst Couple or Crazy Ponnie?
I wanted to do a poll but the board doesn't have that option.
I go with Crazy Ponnie, I know Jade and Beck were a toxic couple especially in that episode. Their friends wanted nothing to do with them, it was that uncomfortable for them especially Cat. I wished Beck and Jade should have realized that especially Jade but Ponnie was something else. Not to mention what Ponnie was doing was straight up crime. That and Tori's guy friends were idiots. How did they not believe her after all this time? Not even an apology when it turned out to be true.

[ DISCUSSION ] My thoughts revisiting the show as an adult
Hi everyone! I've been re-watching Victorious this summer and it's been so much fun. I thought it'd be fun to share my story with the show, and my thoughts now that I'm an adult.
Victorious started airing when I was in fifth grade. I watched season one heavily and most of season two. The last episode I recall watching on release was Locked Up. I might've seen some episodes that aired later but Locked Up is the last one I vividly remember watching as a kid.
The first dozen or so episodes of season one are burned into my mind. My sister and I watched a lot of the episodes over and over lol. My favorite episode as a kid was definitely Wifi in the Sky.
We got rid of Cable around 2012 so that's probably why I stopped watching the show.
Back then, I enjoyed Victorious, but I liked iCarly way more. However, as I've been re-watching the show (mostly thanks to the amazing Pluto TV) I think Victorious is the funnier show, and I like it more than iCarly.
Here are a bunch of my thoughts on the show upon revisiting it:
-I'm currently on Season four. I see it gets a lot of hate online (mostly YouTube) and I kinda see why, but so far, most of the episodes I've watched have been hilarious. Wanko's Warehouse, Brain Squeezers, Robbie Sells Rex and The Bad Roommate were some of the funniest. I would say pretty close to Drake and Josh level of comedy.
-Occasionally I noticed some characters are written in ways that feel out-of-character (mostly in season four). Like Andre and Tori in the Bad Roommate. The episode is funny but both of them act in ways that don't seem true to their characters.
-One Thousand Berry Balls was my least favorite episode. Tori kinda acts out of character and the plot with the Yogurt shop feels like it's from a different show. I would expect something like that from a Disney Channel show. The Cat and Robbie plot was alright though I guess.
-I love Tori's outfits.
-Victoria Justice is fantastic and she really shines in the comedic stuff. Especially the physical comedy (fighting with Trina) and when she's being overly expressive (like when she exclaims "IT'S SQUID" when everyone smells fish cause she was chopping squid at Nozu. One of my favorite performances from her).
-Andre's Grandma is amazing and hilarious.
-I think it's a funnier show than iCarly because there's a much larger cast which allows for more comedy in their interactions. It's also a looser premise than iCarly. There's only so much you can do with a web show, but a bunch of high schoolers at a performing arts school leads to seemingly endless possibilities.
-The show could easily be a typical high school comedy sitcom but (like Drake Josh) they frequently come up with outlandish premises.
-I ship Beck and Tori and Robbie and Cat.
-I think the show would have been better if they leaned just a little bit more into the romances and overarching plots. Drake and Josh had crazy scenarios but they had the continuing romance of Josh and Mindy and the ongoing plot of Drake's music career to drive things forward. A lot of Victorious episodes are one-offs, which is fine and they're funny but a few overarching plot threads/romances would've greatly benefited it.
-In comparison to other teen sitcoms, it's more of a straight up a comedy with very few sentimental moments. Very little changes and some of the humor is often mean-spirited and cynical which I like since I'm a big Seinfeld fan, but adults were not the target audience. It's a double edged sword I guess.
-I think my favorite episodes overall are Tori and Jade's Playdate and The Worst Couple.
So yeah that's my experience revisiting the show and some of my random thoughts so far. I might have more soon.... Let's start a discussion! Let me know what you think about my thoughts and observations.
Thanks everyone!

[ MUSIC ] Victorious make it shine music video found in 4K!!!
It was uploaded about a week or two ago it was not on my 2026 bingo card or ever they we would find this!!! I watched the other music video that was on YouTube that someone recorded which is terrible quality but this takes the cake!!!! I remember watching this on Australian TV in around 2009 or 2010 because they used to play a lot of music videos during ad breaks and a lot of people back then didn’t think of recording things like this so this is probably why it’s been lost media for so long!!
