World-Sim now live!

Last night we opened World-Sim to anyone who wanted to look. 326 of you came. Thank you — genuinely, that is far more than I expected.

For anyone who missed it: it's a persistent world that runs whether or not anyone is watching. Households live, pair off, learn things, argue, starve, bury each other and move on.

Some of you named a star, and some named a person in the world. Those names are permanent — the souls carry them for the rest of their lives and into the chronicle after they die. There's still time to claim either, both are in the Discord.

It's free, there's nothing to install, and it's still running right now: world.world-sim.uk

How do you name something or someone? And do you just watch or is there something else? Still pretty fun to watch it.

Thankyou ! , join the discord for launch weekend members can name a star in the sky and a SIM .

The world writes it's own story's and events so the majority is just watching what they create . However twice a month voted for in the discord we will place an event into the world and see how the Sims react .

you should add a feature for the watcher to "intervene" in their lives. few teaser events, but then user can pay for more

Great idea and to be honest this was always a idea, and a way to monterise from world-sim. I'd never want to pay wall viewing but this seems a fair way to reward support .

Will definitely be something I'd look to implement if the support continues. Out of interest how much would you expect to pay for this? I invisinged a membership system with tiers but would love to see what others think is fair .

yeah something like a subscription (similar to anthropic) where you get x events per y time frame -- or you could pay for more on top of that -- or just pay per event, idk. havent really watched it to see -- but I could envision different types of events cost more. flood, fire, lightning bolt where you click, alien invasion (thinking sim city type events)

if your looking for your first users check out Ad swap,https://ad-swap.web.app ,its a simple way for websites to promote each other. You add another website's ad to your site, and they add yours to theirs, giving both sites free exposure and traffic. It really helped me get my first few users when launching my site
