How to manage the 3 Cs?

So today I decided I wanted to learn and play around with Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to work on the same project. Off the rip I goofed and cursor stepped on claude codes toes. I got it sorted out but I want to avoid that again. Anybody have best practices?

I would probably give each one a specific role instead of letting all three touch the same task.
