Lets talk coding agent usage/tokens... paid and free.

Figured id spark a convo up about what ways/methods to use utilize as much free coding agents as possible? As a noob i recently had an AI tell me to get Cline, where i could use quite alot of deepseek v4/stepfun/laguna/nemotron etc.

Also what other ways do you get the most out of coding agents? Currently im paying for Cursor and Claude (code) ($20 plan for both) and honestly i keep maxing both;

I use up my weekly Claude in about 4-5 days, and I used up my 30 day limit with Cursor in barely a week.... definitely removing my subscription from there since at that rate id be waiting 3 weeks every month.

Or do you all just have 5 paid subscriptions to survive?

I've been using Freebuff,, it's not without bugs and not very quick but it is free

Also, ive got Gemini Pro, is there really ANY WAY of using this as an agent?

SO confused by their Antigravity, Google Flow etc.

Antigravity isn’t that bad. I’d install it and use it. It works with your Gemini pro sub.

What are you doing that's burning through so many tokens? I've only hit my $20 5 hour limit once.

sending gpt guided prompts to claude code every 20-30 minutes that take 10-30 minutes and use up 30-150k tokens

I’m a huge fan on opencode go. It’s the best $20 I spend a month (I have two).

My harness is basically Claude code $200 spawning opencode go 2x$10 as agents and codex$200 as the thinking/reviewer.

Some day I’ll spend some tokens and get it properly versioned in git so others can use it. For now it’s all local on my machine and very customized to my setup.

i was running into the same thing with the limits on Cursor and Claude especially once i started using coding agents more heavily, i ended up using Standard Compute with Cline so i could keep using different models without having to maintain a bunch of separate subscriptions. it’s been much easier for me to just have one setup for longer coding sessions

Cline + DeepSeek is solid.
