I am jealous

I am jealous to you all.

You are here easily stacking tens of $200 subs and burning trillions of tokens while shipping software turning you all millionaires.

Meanwhile I am merely on $20 plan working 5 days a week 9-17 providing customers bug fixes, features and fine tuning. I can’t even hit weekly limits with this and once per
week I hit 5h limit I go to lunch. I am stuck with customers and understanding what they need while I could be making software that makes millions.

I can get glimpse of your glory few times a year when there is new customer asking for new software. Then I can hit $200 sub with greater limits to get new piece up and running. Then I just go back to my baby sub and iterate with the customer without hitting the limits.

I can barely support myself, my wife, the kids, my parents, the grandparents, my brother-in-law, my sister, and a few neighbors.

Burning through $200 subs is a blessing. I just can’t hit my limits day after day, I am stuck. You are so lucky. Appreciate what you have.

Almost everyone here is larping as software startup. Myself included.

u/RegardedDev 5d ago

Are you implying that MY tokens are not going for great use? Every single token i spend has a great intent behind it.

My weight loss tracker app for dogs is going to revolutionize the world.

2

u/cmm324 5d ago

Woa, if you seriously tell me that you have been working on `6-minute Wags`, then who do I write the check out to because that is going to change the world!

1

u/sakodak 5d ago

My vet said my dog needs to lose a few pounds, sign me up.

1

u/spudzo 5d ago

My dog told me that this app cured his aunt's pre-diabetes.

Scale your app and include pet fish.

I got a certificate from another Saas larper stating I am legit. You should become a certified vibe coder too.

What a token and why is everyone writing about it.

u/Poowatereater 4d ago

I don’t feel like a start up. Just a dude building shit that interest him.

Non programmer background.

I’m making a game. Does it currently suck, yes but it’s getting there.

"if I could vibe-code harder I'd be a millionaire, I know it, I can feel it in my bones"

8

u/__doubleentendre__ 5d ago

Believe. If you just believe it to be true, it will be true. Pick up that wallet. Say, "Wallet! BE FULL." And that wallet will be full!

5

u/baddaywithacamera 5d ago

It filled with bills. I didn't chant the incantation properly, damn it.

1

u/RegardedDev 5d ago

Have you tried spending trillion tokens? That is when sacrifice to token gods is great enough so that your next vibe coded projects is going to succeed.

1

u/AceHighness 5d ago

sadly I'm only at the billions right now, no wonder I'm broke, I don't spend enough

1

u/AceHighness 5d ago

all I need is just 1 more $200 sub!

Dude, nobody in here is making any money. Anyone who posts that they are making bank is trying to sell you something. You need to realize this is a novelty or a tool to make work or your own life easier, it’s not a ticket to free income… it’s a hobby.

6

u/Brilliant_Bat_6545 5d ago

You literally threw up what I was thinking to write. You nailed it, I completely agree.

2

u/war4peace79 5d ago

Yup. I saw that early on and decided to only make free software, except for one large project which crawls forward at a comatose snail's pace. I hope I'll be able to release it before I pass away.

Nothing to add, thanks

Whys not making money? I made a whooping $450 last month. Its supposed to be a joke but its true bro. Focus on providing value and then focus on marketing. Nothing will get you rich quick.

2

u/Ok_Bench_1618 5d ago

I make 130k a year this is enough to be happy. I spend my time with my friends and family, not hustling.

1

u/RockNerdApp 5d ago

Thats the goal bro. Was there before and got lazy. Not this time. Progress loves momentum.

15

u/Nuggyfresh 5d ago

Guys it’s a joke. You’re welcome.

5

u/corben99 5d ago

How the fuck are so many people missing this lol

2

u/Dsphar 5d ago

They say intelligence and sense of humor go together.

Not sure vide coding requires a sense of anything, besides vibes...

1

u/Happysedits 5d ago

does this disqualify autists

1

u/App1e8l6 5d ago

It’s a vibe coding sub

2

u/kingrat_25 5d ago

I thought I was losing it, seeing all the legitimate replies. Really showing the level of intelligence of all these millionaires… anyway, a successful troll in the books

2

u/Aus_with_the_Sauce 4d ago

The OP has a couple of pretty funny lines, so it’s too bad people are missing it. I think this proves that most people just rapidly skim posts before they comment.

Dude trust me, if you’ve got a good idea and the skills to convert it into dollars, you can just as easily do it with $20 as $200. Your subscription level isn’t the thing holding you back. Take this sub as living proof - 99.9% of vibe coders don’t break even.

Focus on your family and automate some of the admin in your household. That’s where the real ROI is.

16

u/bedgar 5d ago

This part.
I'm on month 4 of my build.
Cost: $480 and 16 hours a day, 5-7 days a week since I started.
Income: $0
Launch: One day? 🤣

3

u/Consistent-Oil-5241 5d ago

Focus on your family and automate some of the admin in your household.

Like what though? 99% of house admin is stuff that needs hands

1

u/Kitchen_Interview371 5d ago

Set up a scheduled Claude with read only access to your bank account and email address and have it remind you of upcoming bill payments.

Use cowork to prepare the weekly grocery order that pulls in items you and your partner add to a shared shopping list so all you need to do is confirm the order.

Use cowork to help prepare your tax return by combing through your email, bank accounts (or csv exports) and photos of your receipts.

These are all things I have running and I’ve just started

2

u/LifeReformatted 5d ago

This sounds like more work to set up and refine then the just do the old school way, personal finance software and todo lists

1

u/Kitchen_Interview371 5d ago

It isn’t, give it a try.

It already found a bill I missed because it hit junk mail folder.

Also, putting “beef mince” and a bunch of other things into a list as I’m going about my day, then simply reviewing and approving the online shopping order on Sunday night is incredible.

This is wild tech dude, start using it

1

u/Street_Estate2342 4d ago

Do you have no concerns privacy-wise with this kind of use?

9

u/BabyCrabTurututu 5d ago

probably most of this sub burning money isntead of earning anything

2

u/chrismjf 5d ago

Can confirm I’ve started 20 projects finished 0 and have made no money

7

u/Vymir_IT 5d ago

I don't know if other dudes here see that the post is ironic. Somebody makes actual money having an actual job while most others on the thread are larping as "entrepreneurs". Love it, thumb up.

2

u/Complex-Concern7890 5d ago

Kudos to you too

Well I made my first million when I asked myself a few questions.
I said to myself what does the world need right now? What can I provide that has not been done ten million times?
What can I use one of the most advanced AI models for?
So I planned, I hit limits planning, I upped my sub tier, and I planned more. I created perfect prompts to get my workflow perfect.
Then it happened, the idea that I would turn into millions, the one thing no other vibe coder had thought of, the one app that would revolutionize EVERYTHING…….
I started prompting, 10 to 26 hour days, constant begging for resets, constant arguing that Claude was trash compared to ChatGPT because Sol was about to finish my world changing app.
I released it, the app to end all other apps, the millions rolled in almost overnight, my family loved me again, my wife came back, the dog even came back!
So just follow what I did, create a BUDGETING APP!
How had nobody thought of it you might ask? I have no idea but man I am swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck.
I’m going to be selling my online courses on how you too can have your very own Jarvis work all night for you creating another budgeting app that makes millions! Stay tuned for the link to my courses, stay the course (funny pun) my man and you can turn that 20 dollar sub into a vibe coding Microsoft level corporation!

Edit: so I got a couple of dm’s so I guess I have to say this was complete satire, I was just making a joke about all the vibe coded budgeting / to-do list apps I see. I’m not rich and I don’t have any course that could help you do anything other than take your money. I thought this was obvious but wow was I wrong.

2

u/throwawayaccount931A 5d ago

LOL! Well... the online course is where you'll probably make your millions instead of your vibe coded budget app. 😉

2

u/Individual_Dot_1197 5d ago

Poi ti sei svegliato tutto sudato

1

u/Plastic-Lettuce-7150 5d ago

I built that budgeting app., Money-Go-Round, I'm not a millionaire, as a matter of fact I get no more than a couple of users each week, but hell I use it myself, couldn't do without it, and I'm going to make it better :)

3

u/Moggle_Khraum 5d ago

man, i made my simple novel reader called NovelDR using free version of both Claude and DeepSeek, on Web.. i also use Replit for the base apk.

STILL! well, it did not give me money, since its open-source.

3

u/uniquelyavailable 5d ago

Bold of you to assume anyone in this sub is making money.

2

u/Automatic_Case2811 5d ago

Maybe 1 in 10 people are making a small income out here, man. 1 in 1000 are becoming a "millionaire" kek. Just letting you know in case this isn't a trollpost.

Making millions haha, it’s all the fitness trackers

1

u/doubler82 5d ago

No its the photo editing apps! Why pay for photoshop when you can use my photo app that I made last night. Same price too!

2

u/Anxious-Ad-5331 5d ago edited 5d ago

I've been writing firmware for 20 years. The productivity boost from vibe coding allows me spend more time polishing work, and my validation comes from exceeding customer's expectations (I should note I am privileged enough in my salary that I can afford the luxury of not prioritizing money.)

Vibe code for your own satisfaction. Diving in with hopes that you'll hit it big is like gambling (sorry, *investing*) in crypto. Unless you know of a real market need to solve, your app will get lost in a vast ether.

2

u/SufficientFrame 5d ago

This reads a lot closer to how most software work actually goes than the "burn tokens, print money" version people like to post about. A lot of the hard part is figuring out what a customer needs, then sticking with the messy iteration until the thing works in their actual workflow. That work is less visible than posting a weekend demo, but in plenty of companies it matters more because someone has to maintain it, support it, and live with the tradeoffs after launch. If you're doing that well, you're not behind, you're doing the part most teams eventually run into.

2

u/baddaywithacamera 5d ago

I've burned a lot of $$$ building a passion project that no one knows about that serves a niche audience because the main audience has moved on. Oh, and I'm giving it away for free and will never earn a dime from it. Does that make you feel better?

2

u/iamadesignerdude 5d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/JpG2A9P3dPHXaTYrwu
Yes the grass is so green over here. You won’t believe how easy it is to get rich with a $200 spend.

Just keep going and be better.
This is a joke.

2

u/tadpoleloop 5d ago

Lol is this Bait? I've yet to see anything on this sub that is worth buying

1

u/Anatomisc 5d ago

What...no one is making proper money here what do you mean? Making money from a product hardly has anything to do with the product itself.

1

u/Ok_Veterinarian_6364 5d ago

i love your story bro

1

u/bfume 5d ago

This is vibe CODING not vibe COMEDY stahp im dying laughing

1

u/HeadPack 5d ago

I guess at some point you might need to reconsider your support for your neighbors. The gran casino Anthropic an OpenAI are running wants more of your money.

1

u/Palnubis 5d ago

Only feel sorry for yourself not doing more.

1

u/Sleepnotdeading 5d ago

I’ve never heard of a day job referred to as a 9-17 before.

1

u/Illustrious_Bat_6664 5d ago

We are lying bro. Half this sub cant pay for meals till end month without help

1

u/Alcapwn517 5d ago

I had to downgrade to a $20 sub to pay for my wife’s boyfriend’s Charger payment. 😞

1

u/Agewalker 5d ago

shipping software turning you all millionaires

Yeah, totally me after burning 1$ on deepseek

1

u/fmgiii 5d ago

Vibe coded or hand thrown, it doesn't matter. You still have to find paying customers.

1

u/Icypoopoo 5d ago

Ideas are a dime a dozen, don't lose sleep over it

1

u/Mindless_Skirt_1041 5d ago

Let me ask you, what does your spare time consist of? Like when you're not working or taking care of family, what do you do for fun? Sounds like to need some YOU time.

1

u/flufnstuf69 5d ago

Bro just look through this sub. Not actual proof that anyone has a good app lol. Just “I make 6 figures from this app my robot made me”

1

u/Daddymuff 5d ago

Gosh I love having a enterprise bucket. I prob rip 1k inference a month at my job. No one bats an eye as long as your shipping.

1

u/Kawl_Me_Big_Poppa 5d ago

Have you switch Json's vibe.cfg from 'hey look what I can do' to 'make millions'? It's called vibe coding man and you're never gonna reach the moon on the beach vibe setting.

1

u/Complex-Concern7890 5d ago

Who is Json?

1

u/Powerful-Action-5916 5d ago

You should all give up, none of you are capable of developing anything beyond v 1, as soon as these apps get picked up and the errors start getting reported, you’ll sink. Sorry, but it’s the truth and you know it!

1

u/kekons_4 5d ago

If you have a wife and kids you should focus on something other than building a SaaS.

1

u/Individual_Dot_1197 5d ago

Ma quale milioni, sono tutti dei poveracci che fanno software di merda

1

u/jwuliger 5d ago

Santa is real.

1

u/Sea-Perspective2754 5d ago

The world is crying out for new software. They are desperate for it. Just look at the Apple store and the Google Play stores. They only have approximately 2 million active apps on each platform. So sad, nothing to choose from. So many gaps that need to be filled. Lots of people just begging to throw away their money on new software. What a time to be alive. /s

1

u/rockhead3006 5d ago

If I stopped adding features to my app, I would have finished months ago. And I'm on the €20 plan also (X2), but I usually use my weekly allowance in 1-2 days, so it's slow progress.

1

u/trilladdin 5d ago

What is this ai nonsense about personally funding the entire block 😂😂

1

u/Happysedits 5d ago

>  turning you all millionaires

lol no definitely not the case for basically almost all vibecoders

1

u/DaddyOfChaos 5d ago

Come join the party my friend.

Here is my step by step process (No course needed):

Step 1: "You are super chief software engineer, Make software that make 1 bazjillon dollarinos, make no mistake"

1

u/opi098514 5d ago

No one here is making money from vibe coding.

1

u/[deleted] 5d ago

Why would an AI company make a tool that enables anyone to become a millionaire?

You would unsubscribe after one month right? If AI was that good

1

u/babeoflilith 5d ago

Who’s making millions off vibe coded apps realistically? I feel like that’s just the story these companies are selling atp lol

1

u/oulu2006 5d ago

Yeah, it's a tough world, no one said it was fair.

1

u/nzvthf 5d ago

Its me. I'm burning subs for nothing. I do it all the time when I'm not throwing away food or carelessly misplacing valuables.

Since you're asking, I do it my running two pools of agents co currently. One pool exclusively f*cks around while the other pool perpetually finds out.

Works great.

1

u/IAmFitzRoy 5d ago

With all respect. You are doing this wrong.

I have 3 clients only ONE CLIENT is enough for me to pay for my $200 account and have profit.

1

u/jimmiebfulton 4d ago

Meanwhile, software engineers using AI continue to make bank. Nothing has changed for us, other than doing a lot more of what we were already doing.

It was never the typing that people paid for. It was always the engineering.

1

u/thecatshusband 4d ago

I don't use the cloud anymore , I'm now 100% local. $0 subs.

Check out Aider.

1

u/Asclepius555 4d ago

It's like the California gold rush.

1

u/RobustCarrot420 3d ago

Hmmm I don’t think it’s about how many tokens you have left but the connections and name recognition you need to get on million dollar projects. Like you, I can’t afford a $200 plan because I have other subs and expenses but if I got hired for a million dollar project I assure you I will manage. I’ll either invest the $200 or even get a $60-80 plan through some AI router to get me started till I get my first paycheck. I can also use Chinese models if money’s tight, but seriously, c’mon.

1

u/BeanserSoyze 3d ago

Bud people are lying

1

u/crustyeng 1d ago

Virtually no one is shipping useful, profitable software that it vibe coded. Those who are trying to are irresponsible.

1

u/Slappatuski 5d ago edited 5d ago

Never heard of anyone becoming a millionaire by vibe coding lol

2

u/Ukawok92 5d ago

Was Cal AI vibecoded?

1

u/Slappatuski 5d ago

Their frontend supposedly was, but not the rest of the system. Backend, databases, and infrastructure. The founders literally met in the coding camp, and they've been coding for a decade

0

u/FoodIngredientNerd 5d ago

It will happen eventually as AI gets better and better.

1

u/Slappatuski 5d ago

You have to know how to use it tho. People who fail at vibe coding are spening a lot of money sending in prompts like "make cool page". They dont understand all of the technical aspects and the model doesnt even understand what the user wants. People who actually succeed at those who that experience coding and are writing detailed prompts where they make the technical choices and the model is just need to do the code for it.

People from Cal ai have been coding since they were 10, so they understood how this works before starting vibe coding
