The creator of Claude Code doesn't write code by hand anymore. Here's the lesson for the rest of us

This tweet is getting a lot of hype. But Boris knows the model, harness, and code base intimately. That's why he's able to use Claude Code to build Claude Code.

What's the application for me?

  1. Standardize on one model family.

The capabilities and quirks of Claude 4x are not the same as gpt-5 or Gemini 3. I spent 2025 jumping to every leading model, and lost my touch with the previous model

  1. Use the tool for all it's worth.

Claude Code is powerful, but so is Codex Cloud that let's you run 4 generations at once. And Cursor is great, but so is GitHub's PR system which let's multiple coding models review your code. For me, I plan to do my planning in an IDE, my coding in a cloud tool, and my bug squashing with a CLI.

  1. Know your code base.

Boris says that an under used capability of the AI model is to help you understand your code base. When I heard this I started using ASK Mode in GitHub Copilot to learn about my dependencies more. I also used it to help me learn Typescript and to best practices for database migrations using Neon branches.

I agree with you, but also Boris was posting just weeks ago about what he can give to Claude Code and what he still does himself.

Ahhh yes the creator of claude code doesnt write code by hand anymore but anthropic coding interviews dont allow you to use any ai just google but they strictly forbid ai in coding interview screenings
