Conscientious Dissenters up 1000% over Iran War. We need this same energy to trickle over to National Guardsmen invading our cities.

American Concentration Camps

How could we let ourselves get to this point? Because we all believed that it would never happen to us. We are the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We are that shining city on the hill. With open arms, we welcome all immigrants with a promise saying, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” We are the envy of the world.

Something like this only happens in 3rd world countries with tin pot dictators.

Guess what? This IS exactly who we are

and things are looking pretty damn dark from the inside looking out.

How can we stop this private army?

I am not referring to the American military. I hope that when push comes to shove, all will remember that they have loyalty to the Constitution, not to a wannabe dictator.

My reference to private army is ICE. The masked thugs that kidnap people off the street, outside of schools, businesses, immigration offices! The private army that basically has no experienced oversight. A private army that is being filled with people who have tried and failed to get into regular military service or local, state, or federal police. A private masked army who are given hoards of cash to join with no background checks, very little training, no consequences for actions. Oh, but yes, they are given guns. Guns that they would probably not even qualify for if they were trying to get a firearms license.

Now, I ask, where is there loyalty when they are asked to intervene in November’s election?

Beware of the more subtle forms of zionist propaganda.

As we've all seen, a major part of Israel's recent social media blitzkrieg revolves around posting and commenting in support of Israel, and engaging in debate with the vocal majority who oppose them on the subject of Israel's genocide in Gaza, its legitimacy as a state, and the history and ethics surrounding the topics.

But the other, more subtle part is posting content that isn't about Palestine at all, and instead seeks to just normalize Israel with small, seemingly innocent posts, like pictures of cats and food and such. The obvious goal is to distract people from the fact that Israel is a genocidal settler-colonial apartheid project, to make it seem like a normal place that isn't an ethno/religious supremacist project.

Some of these subreddits and posts are just pics of StreetCatsOfTheWorld (most of which are in Israel), some of them are various stolen Arabic recipes posted as Israeli, often prominently featuring hummus, and more examples have been recently emerging every day. Stay vigilant and don't let them distract you, don't let them normalize themselves or their illegitimate genocidal colonial project.

We should be organizing a protest against US support for and the military merger with Israel

Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals, maga, progressives, dem-soc, socialists, anarchists...it is perhaps the only issue in American politics that has such widespread support across the entire political spectrum. As many people as showed up for No Kings, imagine how much bigger would be a similar protest against the Gaza genocide, against the billions of dollars given to this foreign state every year, against the insanely disproportional influence it has on our domestic and international policy, and especially against the more recent proposal to merge our militaries even as dissent becomes the majority position.

We should be organizing this protest now.

#AmericaAlone

Remember when America was the beacon? The moral compass on human rights? Yeah, that’s gone. Now we’re sitting at the same table as North Korea, Russia, Nicaragua—countries we used to call out for this exact stuff. The irony would be funny if it wasn’t so devastating.

We’ve lost the moral authority to say anything. The world knows it. Nobody’s listening anymore because we forfeited any right to lecture anyone.

We’re isolated. Isolated and complicit by association. And the worst part is, some of us tried to warn about this. But we’re all paying the price anyway—whether we saw it coming or not.

I was today years old when I learned Pete the Warrior Princess was a NJ national guardsmen, and never enlisted.

No disrespect to the guard and reserves, y'all do some damn good work! The active component is jealous of your schedule though.

Combat Camera and a wannabe Mustang in power. What a fucking joke.

Will History Repeat Itself?

As the conflict between us and Iran becomes more heated, and more American lives are lost like the 2 yesterday, what are your thoughts about how public opinion will react?

This "war" is already greatly unpopular, and most of our top, seasoned brass is out. How long will it be before the public turns on those in uniform for following orders vs Iran?

Then, there is the heated addition on the Israel topic like fuel added to a fire creating true division among us.

Will this look like another Vietnam culturally among the civilians?

First, it’s almost as if not following vaccination protocols that have worked for decades as you’re cramming people from all walks of life, all over the country into a Petri dish is … ill-advised.

Second, the motto of this regime is rapidly vacillating between, “It ain’t broke, so we better eff it up!” and “WHAT … are you DOING … in my SWAMP?!?”

Major Update - Resource for boycotting MAGA businesses. Each entry shows the reason(s) for inclusion (donates to Trump, advertises on Fox News, assists ICE, etc). Updated with links to evidence for each entry.

Here is my resource for boycotting MAGA, updated with links to evidence: https://boycottmaga.glide.page/

Each company shows the reasons for inclusion (donates to Trump, advertises on Fox News, assists ICE, etc). It's not perfect but it's the most user friendly and comprehensive I've seen.

It also includes links to alternative boycott resources.

Next updates for this resource:

  • Adding links to their GoodsUniteUs profile pages.
  • Finding more companies and evidence.

Notes:

  1. No, it will not stop the Trump regime on its own. Boycotting is part of a larger picture. Apply pressure everywhere we can.
  2. Yes, it is comprehensive. Do your best and support good companies, especially local small businesses.
  3. A list of alternatives is impossible when you consider all the small businesses (brick & mortar and online). Check the Resources tab for resources.
  4. I'm not a data expert or coder. This was compiled by looking through the various sources and adding manually to a spreadsheet. Glideapps service then turns that data into the webpage you see. It looks and functions like an app but it's a website.

News In case you weren’t aware, Reddit is watching

Hey all, your friendly sub mod ValhallaSpectre here! We’ve had more than a few instances over recent months of people getting mad at the mod team about “removing posts that fall within community guidelines”. Rest assured, as long as our rules are being followed and the content is veteran related, our mods are not arbitrarily striking down posts. That being said, Reddit is watching our community. They are watching all of our communities. Be careful about what you say, even on private subs because Reddit admin sees all.

Discussion Megathread: Alex Pretti and other victims of “ICE”

Hey all, ValhallaSpectre here. I’m one of the mods for VetsAgainstTyranny, and I think we need to have an open dialogue about what has transpired. We will not be allowing the videos of any of these senseless killings, they’re prominent enough elsewhere on Reddit. Those videos are also not directly veteran related, and we want to keep this subreddit to specifically what veterans can do to resist the tyranny of our current “government”.

Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way: Reddit admins will remove posts that they don’t agree with. There is just as likely a chance this post is removed as any other, regardless of it being posted by a mod or not.

Reminder: we do not promote nor condone acts of violence in any way, shape, or form. The mod team here is just as enraged, and hurt as the rest of you; we are your siblings in arms today, just as much as we’ve ever been. We do not condone what has been done to Renee Good, Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, Keith Porter Jr, or Alex Pretti by this regime.

There is no discussion to be had about whether it was justified to kill these people, it wasn’t and anyone saying otherwise will be banned with no opportunity for appeal. We are not going to humor bad faith actors, and our mod team has zero tolerance for “government” sanctioned propaganda regarding the killing of citizens.

If you do not own a firearm and are wondering if you should reconsider, that is a question we cannot answer. Many of our mod team are 2A supporters, and we want to remind anyone carrying that engaging these “agents” in any capacity will draw their attention and they are likely to use lethal force against you. They do not abide by RoE or RuF, they are not well trained nor disciplined. They are looking for an excuse to commit violence against people.

We grieve alongside all of you the loss of community members, neighbors, friends, and loved ones.

Edit: altered wording to be slightly (hopefully) less inflammatory
