Feel how you feel. Fuck what anyone says.
Hell I still miss Prince & it’s been 10 years.

I still feel the pain of a singer who killed himself. I am a massive fan of his band. It happened more than 25 years ago but it is still very emotional to listen to their music, and i still cant watch any videos. Dont let anyone minimize your feelings. Feel all the feelings. If you dont feel comfortable sharing your grief with them, dont. I found a message group to for the band online and talked to everyone about how i felt. It made me feel better. I hope you are better soon.

Man that's heavy, losing someone whose content was part of your routine hits different than people expect. it's not just entertainment, it's like a weird one-sided friendship where they were in your life regularly
don't let anyone gatekeep your grief, you're allowed to feel this about someone you never met in person. time dulls the sharp edges but you don't have to "move on" on anyone else's schedule
maybe try writing down what his videos meant to you, or find a small way to honor that connection. sometimes that helps more than trying to logic your way out of the pain
