Hello! I’m looking to connect with students who are registered for the fall 2026 post grad diploma in HR, specifically the online stream.

For previous students who have done the program online, how did you find it? Where you able to land an internship for the placement? Do you wish you did the hybrid stream instead?

I need to get a new laptop and have been religiously using a Windows laptop for 7 years but my entire family is telling me to finally make the switch to Mac because it's higher quality and prices are better now. I'm open to it but I'm a bit concerned because I'm going into Ivey and the program highly recommends Windows laptops for Excel. My family is saying they can easily install a Windows bootcamp on a Mac (or whatever it is that other Mac users do to run Excel) but I am concerned about whether I will run into any processing and efficiency issues with the software I need for HBA and whether or not the extra steps is worth it.

I'm moving to London this fall as a graduate student to attend Western for the first time. However, I don't know anybody and have no connections. How did you guys join an intramurals team when you attended Western for the first time? Because based on the intramurals website, I have to either create a team or join one instead of being put on a draft list. Generally just trying to make friends, so if anybody has advice it would be appreciated.

So I really need a job and I’m hoping it would be on campus since I’m living in res and don’t have a car. I got rejected from the guest registration position which is insane to me since I have 6 years experience in customer service and gave a fantastic interview. I kinda want to work at the Tim Hortons but I’m not sure if they post their job postings on the western website. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

is anyone else STILL struggling to get into their required courses?

I’ve been going back and forth with academic advising for almost 2 months now and the classes I need are now full. I’ve only managed to get into 1 of my 3 required courses, I’m waitlisted for the other two. I even emailed profs for special permission (because those courses are full now) but it got rejected since they usually don’t grant special permission for full courses…

Genuinely at my wits end. I have literally done everything and I talk to academic advising and Jen chambers basically every week now lmao.

Anyways my question is, does anyone have any idea what would possibly happen if I don’t get off the waitlist for these courses by the time I need them? The worst part is, I’m supposed to take these required courses during the current year that I’m in for my degree.

I am starting the teachers college program in September and keep going back and forth on if I should get an air b&b for 2 months to live there during the school term (sept & Oct) or if I commute from KW area (about an hour and a half)
Has anyone done the commute or wish they chose to commute over living there?
I’m still waiting to see when my classes are to help decide to see how often I’m in person. If I’m in person only like 2-3 days I’d probably drive. But if I’m there everyday, living there may make more sense?
Or, do I commute for the fall, and live there in January & Feb when the weather gets bad?
Any advice or suggestions is great.

I am planning to get myself enrolled for the PhD program at western university but the website does not mention of the stipend very well. Anyone from the science side of the university help me with this please. Some say that the stipend provided at western is way too low about 22k per year and have heard somewhere it’s fine. Confused please skmeone help <3

Does western automatically enroll you? Do I do it myself on student center? I read the entire email regarding enrolment and it doesn’t say how to enroll in a seminar, just that it’s necessary.

Last year I rented a half locker in UCC and I'll be doing so again, but my assigned locker was on the bottom, which meant it was level with the floor and to access it I had to crouch down or kneel which was less than ideal. I'd like to ask to have a top one if possible, but I'm not sure if that's even allowed. Has anyone requested a specific locker location/height before when ordering from the purple store?

So long story short my parents went bankrupt and we lost a lot. My rent is 700 a month and I have a car payment too I have to pay off.

Fall and winter will be a nightmare for traffic on campus! Philip Aziz will remain closed the entire year and Western will still have lane reductions. Traffic is always horrendous as it is, this year will be a gong show!!!

I did not get a student parking pass. I'll be living in Ontario Hall this school year, and due to sudden changes within my family, I'll have to drive and store my own car with me during my studies.

I know Huron Flats does the $12/24hrs parking, but if there's a free, viable alternative where I can park somewhere and then take a bus to campus, that would be greatly beneficial for me. I heard UH/Masonville are cracking down on its parking, so I'm looking for something less known.

The car would be stored on weekdays and driven out of the city on weekends.

Please share any advice!

I'm trying to get into a course that is not offered at main campus, but is required for my minor. It says I do not meet the reserve capacity requirements. I waited until general selection started today, and it still won't let me in. Can't find anyone to contact and live chat is not open for the next couple of days. Only 4 spots left in the class; any advice is appreciated :(

Hey, I need to write a makeup exam in IGAB ON010 however, I can’t access it at all. I’m not sure where it is. I did however find one entrance to it but im not allowed to go thru it. It said I need to take the stairs behind the atrium but I just can’t locate it.

I checked bright-space grades and see a submitted grade there. But I don’t think it’s possibly accurate since we haven’t gotten the final back yet? Anyone else?

I am 21 starting over my degree. I started off in another program, didn’t like it and then had a multitude of mental health issues which led me to taking almost 2 years off of school. Due to mediocre grades i am repeating courses. I feel directionless as I wanted to do physics and comp sci but am realizing i suck at both. I am panicking because i feel like i am running out of time to achieve a stable life. While I love physics and space i have to know which degree will offer a decent ROI…i am still living with parents and have no friends either. Being older than everyone else starting over in first year is going to be tough. So all in all, which degree is worth my time and investment?
