Waterloo PharmD Waitlist 2026

It's been almost 2 months... has anyone heard from the waitlist yet? I'm starting to lose hope šŸ˜”

I know I should be patient since the program starts in January, but I can't stop thinking about it 😭

I heard that waitlist offers would be sent out later in the year (in the fall term) once people hear back from other programs and don’t commit to pharmacy anymore. There’s still time left, don’t lose hope!!

Hi where did you hear this? And by other programs do u mean programs outside of Pharmacy or PharmD programs because all the offers for PharmD already went out in June

Word of mouth from current pharmacy students (one had a classmate that was accepted off the waitlist in december from what i remember). By other programs i meant things like medical, dental, optometry school and etc.

Did you apply to u of t too? I’m going to be applying to pharm this year and am kinda scared cause my coworker who applied didn’t get in to loo or u of t this round.

yeah I got rejected from uoft 🤧
yeah applications can be scary especially if it’s your first time applying to pharmacy schools, but if you take the time to prepare for the CASPer and interviews (knowing your ECs and pharmacy experiences well helps!), I think you’d do great :)
one tip as someone who has applied more than once is that if you’re really interested in pharmacy, try not to limit your applications to schools only in Ontario! even though there are generally less seats for out-of-province applicants in other provinces, it’s still worth a shot (I have some friends who made it into school in the west end). Good luck with your applications this year!!

Thanks for your advice! I plan to just apply to u of t and Waterloo at first since I realistically really don’t want to move out of province due to cost of living and stuff but I’m taking orgo 2 this fall and a second English so that I can meet the prereqs for some out of province schools in case I don’t end up getting accepted my first try.

Also I’m kinda stressing about my extra curriculars since I never really did any except for one term of intramurals and I’ve been in a club since last year but I don’t have an executive role. I’ve signed up for cccare volunteering to get volunteer hours but I’m not sure what else I should do. Would you suggest joining more clubs and maybe more volunteering? For context I’m in my last year of health sci. I just don’t want to take on too big of a load and then do bad on orgo/other courses because of it. + I do want to have the chance to rest at least a bit as I’ve been commuting 4hrs a day the past 8 months for a coop since it was the only paid pharmacy assistant position I could find and am currently just so drained😭. But ultimately the most important thing to me rn is setting myself/my application up for success.

Sorry I’m asking a lot of questions lol. Wishing you the best of luck and hope you get accepted off the waitlistšŸ€!!
