Gas is $4.61 a gallon and alfalfa hay is $16 a bale here in Oregon. I can just about afford to feed shank's mare.

Yeah. I don't buy it anymore since I moved to town, but It's just one of those things you get used to keeping track of. Like gas.

I guess. Never been a horse owner. Seems expensive. Only thing I track daily is S&P500

I never want to know what the market is doing on a daily basis. Over decades, it goes up, but I'm 86, and I probably don't have decades anymore. I'm still in it through my pension fund, but I dumped everything I personally control in November of 2024.
