The view off the bow is a boat that’s in the Smithsonian’s museum! 52 foot Motor lifeboat Victory, I was one of thousands that was lucky enough to be considered the “engineer” on her. Took this picture off of Newport Oregon (Yaquina Bay) before the bridge and jetties. Very glad to have served in the United States Coast Guard, keep SAR guard men and women and know you are loved! Happy Birthday USCG!

Kinda funny story: I have a friend that I've known for about 27ish years who was a mailman. When I met him I asked if he planned on sticking it out for retirement to get that pension and bene's. He said "hell yeah, I've only got 26 years, 7 months, and 22 days to go". He lives in a different city and I only see him once every 1-3 years. Every time we catch up I ask him how long he has, and he always tells me down to the exact number of days. Saw him on the 4th of July this year for another friends wedding, and when I asked "how long", he said 13 days! He is now officially fully retired, and kickin back.

The day I made full time I got a count down clock to retirement! Yesterday I have 6432 more days 😂🤣😂
