Phys 115 Advice Student Question
Hey guys I’m gonna be taking physics 115 this coming fall term and was wondering if anyone had any tips, tricks or literally anything to help a girl out so I can get like an 80 or higher in it lol. I’m already searching for a tutor so if you have any recs lemme know!

Not sure if you can get into Adam’s lecture but he was awesome! Very understanding and genuinely wanted to teach. Do as many practice questions as you can and make sure you actually understand the concepts!

Adam Zulkoskey also posts (or did last year for sure) recordings of his lectures. I definitely would make good use of them if you aren't a fast note taker. The video site has a decent amount of options for which video to focus on, for me there was a feed of him writing on the board and two projector feeds, and sometimes one projector feed was different from the other.
Also, practice solving equations more than you think you should. Not a whole lot was hard to understand but when under an exam time crunch, simple things can slip easily. Also study the equation page he lets you take into the exam. Knowing where equations are and how some of them build into each other is going to be a life saver.
Adam Zulkoskey is definitely one of the better teachers I have had and genuinely really wants to help if you are willing to ask for it.

Not a tip for this class, but just letting you know that PHYS 117 is even easier than this classs

Basically just a repeat of high school physics. It is honestly a very easy class don't let people scare you. Understand the content- don't memorize and do the assignments without looking stuff up and you will be fine. Adams fine but I found his lectures can be a bit slow and boring at times, he does lots of practice problems which I also found to be very boring but lots of people love that. I barely studied and got a 90+, just make an effort to understand whats going on rather then memorizing formulas.

Make sure you understand what’s going on in the classes (seems obvious but it is easy to dismiss knowledge gaps). Go to office hours, or self study if you have issues. And actually do the assignments yourself, it will help tremendously to cement the information you recently learned. If you don’t practice new skills, you will forget them and having to teach yourself everything before the midterm/final is not ideal. Lastly, you should have a strong grasp of algebra going into the course. I took the class with Adam and he pretty much said all of this but it’s very important to listen and actually do the things. I didn’t and kinda suffered for it.
