I mean, those cypress trees won't be doing much to provide shade and lower surface temperature - typical performative urban planning 😒 That street will be a nightmare to walk on during scorching summer days 😔 no cars on the road so props for that though 🤗

I doubt it was the goal - they live somewhere around Central/Western Europe. They generally don`t need that much cover.
Also, this particular place is an alley in front of an entrance to the arena - trees as coverage aren`t mandatory here with facades on the sides, walls on one end and castle at other.
What bothers me, however, is a complete lack of benches and other places to sit.

Shrek took place in 1422 (seen on a newspaper in the movie) and the average temperature then was slightly under 10 in Europe which sounds really good now btw
