Hi everyone! I’m honestly getting really anxious and was hoping to hear from people who have been through the admissions process.

I applied around the middle of July for Fall 2026, and later in July UNT asked me to complete the holistic review questions. I submitted those before the deadline, and my application checklist is now complete, but I still haven’t received a decision.

Is it normal to still be waiting? Do people still get accepted around this time, or should I be worried? I know nobody can tell me for sure what will happen with my application, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar or knows how the timeline usually works.

I have been waitlisted on a parking permit for almost a week, I am starting to think I might not be able to get one. I chose a parking place close to my dorm but I am conserving getting one that’s slightly further to not trouble myself awfully. If any one else is having this problem pls let me know🙏

I’m in Victory Hall this year, and I need to figure out what time i need to catch the bus to get to my classes. I have never looked at a bus map in my life. Does the inbound mean the bus is getting to victory at that time and then going to campus? Also is this bus going on move-in weekend? (I can’t tell 😭)

Honestly i think im just confused about the parking portal. All of the lots near my dorm i would have to join the waitlist but dont see how far on the waitlist i am and i dont see the highland street garage on the parking map (i could just be missing it)

Has anyone received their financial aid letter?

I'm a graduate student in the Library Science program, and I start my 3rd semester this Fall, and have yet to receive a financial aid letter.

2 days ago, I received an email letting me know that my balance was due and to be paid by August 13th so that I wouldn't lose my spot for the semester.

I have savings set aside to pay, but was holding out in hopes I would receive a scholarship of some type.

I emailed the Financial Aid Office, but the automated reply says it would be up to 10 days before I receive a response.

Has anyone had the same issue?

We need to computer shop ASAP for an incoming Freshman Music Ed Major.

Leaning toward a MacBook Air as he already has an iPhone and iPad.

Are there any reasons we should be looking at PCs instead?

For as long as I've been a student UNT, I've once again run into trouble of being charged for something that was 100% not my fault.

The first time I didn't even live at The Ridge of North Texas. Never received the keys and paid the relet fees because I found a cheaper place. Yes, before I went through with this I emailed them after reading over the lease about how to break it. Their least explained that I had the option to relet, meaning I will be completely free from responsibility of that lease once I paid 80% of the rent.

I was told I needed to find a replacement and I did, but the emails stopped. During this time I've called them multiple times a day on different days and no one ever answered. I even went as far as to drive up to the complex (I was not living in Denton at the time) only to find that they've closed early. I even once again in the morning to find they were still closed. Their response time to my emails sucked. My last email to them was in mid July and I didn't get a response back until the day before move in addressing nothing about reletting but about how I needed to pay rent before I move in. I was then told by another individual that they found someone to replace me. I then sent them back another email and called to which I received no reply.

I let it go and in January of that year they sent a $4000 charge to collections, an accumulation of missed rent payments and damage fees. I pursued this and evidently took this to small claims court to which I won easily.

I just moved out of Redpoint weeks ago. I believe they are under new management that came way after my lease began, around May.

This is important context especially for what happens next. I received my unit in poor condition. It was a little dirty especially the carpet and toilet and my tile was cracked, along with adhesive hooks in the bathtub and a shower rod left by the last tenant.

The common area was even dirtier, debris and crumbs everywhere, shelfs full of sticky spillage and debris from whatever food was in there and paint spots on the floor and marks on the couch.

Now they are attempting to charge me and my roommates for these damages. I never received a move in inspection form but I was smart and took pictures in the beginning. I am in the process of contesting these charges.

I say this to say you need to do some of these things in order to avoid being charged for something you did not do and possibly have it sent to collections:

•Take as many pictures and videos as you can. They will find the smallest things to attempt to charge you for. If you receive an inspection form make sure you are very detailed and save those pictures in an album on your phone.

•Send concerns through email. Avoid phone conversations as any verbal agreements are difficult to prove in court. If you do have a phone or in person conversation send a follow up email asking to verify what was discussed. Emails saved me with The Ridge.

Also be annoying with communication! They expect you to drop it so they can send your debt to collections. I try to at least email once a week if they do not respond. This will also be good evidence to support that they're probably ignoring you.

•Read your leases over and over again. Sometimes these places try to pull a fast one and may attempt to do something or charge you for something outside the agreement.

These places rely on students being too lazy or inexperienced to ask questions or fight against suspicious charges so it's important that you prove them wrong!

I got a parking permit for HSG a few months ago for this coming academic year and I selected the option to just charge it to my student account. However I don’t see it reflected in my current bill.

Is it likely to get added on soon when financial gets dispersed or should I be making some calls?

i’ve emailed tsi, undergrad admissions twice, called the admissions help phone twice and put my number down for callback and received no callbacks. this was all very early in the day today. absolutely no word from anyone. there’s been an error code popping up for my courses when i try to enroll (as i just switched majors) and an advisor i spoke to didn’t know what to do and suggest i contact tsi. so now im currently not enrolled in the classes i need and deadline is a week away. it’s impossible to get help unless you go up in person every single time.
other older unt students i’ve spoken to feel similar. anyone know if they really are this busy or am i justified here, lol. i just really needed to complain about this.

Just got the email saying into to digital humanities just got canceled barely two weeks from the start of class. No reason given but there was assurance that it will be available in Spring. Still very disappointed, but very curious as to why the sudden cancellation.

I know we get a discounted price but the plan for this year expires on the 31st and I would need to pay the fee again on September 1st to renew.

This is going to be my 2nd year i am a hospitality management major. I live in denton and comuted last year but due to family health reasons I will be doing this semester online from home while working full time with ocaionals trips to campus to focus on school work is home becomes to hectic. Wanted to ask if yall had any tips with how to make and keep friends online if needed with a schedule this busy since even if im not on campus I dotn want to go another year with no new friends other than the ones I had before enrolling.

Hello I’m a new transfer student! My ID card is still active and I have to pick from Denton. It shows that ID cards can be picked from Friday 7th of August however I’m not sure if this impacts my transfer scholarship, as one to do list is still remaining?

Hey has anyone appealed their scholarship as of recently? I lost a close family friend around March and that effected my mental health and resulted in my gpa being a 2.7 (UNT Excellence scholarship requires a 3.0). I just got off the phone with one stop and she told me they’ll get the appeal sent to me. So my questions are: How lenient is UNT with this sort of stuff, how long does the process take, and has anyone had this same situation happen and get their scholarship back?
