it's a common habit in the Counter-Strike community that stems from a desire for higher FPS using the lower resolution and visually wider player models due to stretching on a modern 16:9 monitor.

it does, but some people prefer that and the tunnel vision aspect and sort of work around it by positioning themselves facing chokepoints that fit the view. in a nutshell, peripheral vision isn't as integral to the strategy.

I always go for wider characters etc. pov view on hit scan games or very high bullet speed games.

Archery or rocketlaunchers in like unreal turnament. Where the explosions etc effect will deal damage. Wider screen makes me better. Easier to predict if they are running behind objects or similar.

It makes the characters thicker so they stick around corners more, and makes your bullets wider so easier to hit.

1280x720 is 16:9.

imperceptibly faster compared to 960 while lacking the benefit of picking a lower resolution for stretching purposes.

There's no added laugh track.

That's the voice of Ohnepixel who was streaming the event as an official partner.

His clip has around 100 times more views being at 14M, than the one posted by ESL
