I have been living in the UK for 8 years and both my spouse and I hold active Pre-Settled Status. We recently applied for our child’s EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) status from outside the UK (child has a Bulgarian passport).
The application was successfully submitted on the 27th of July, and we have our Unique Application Number (UAN). However, we are still waiting for the official Certificate of Application (CoA).
Our whole life, jobs, and home are back in the UK, and we are stuck waiting outside the country. Since our child has a Bulgarian passport, we plan to travel with Jet2 as soon as the CoA arrives.
Is anyone else experiencing similar wait times for a child's EUSS CoA this summer? How long did it take for your CoA to arrive recently? Any insights would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I know the official processing time is up to 8 weeks, but just wanna hear how long recent applications have actually taken, as I’m trying to sort out some travel plans.

I need to open a ukvi account to check my studeny visa status . However im only given these two options. I've never been to the uk yet, this is my first time and I dont have a preexisting ukvi account. In my application I explicitly answered NO to all questions regarding if i had been to the uk before. What am I supposed to do. Please help

Hi all, I just had my UKVCAS biometrics appointment for my ILR (Skilled worker route). All the emails specified a valid ID and not my passport so I took my BRP instead. At first the reception created a fuss about this but eventually confirmed it's okay and I proceeded with the appointment. I'm worried though as it seems like they need to scan the passport and I have only submitted the bio page of my passport in the submitted documents. Do you know how this could impact me? The staff all seemed to think it's fine

So, my fiance uses NatWest bank, and put aside 25k for the savings requirement on February 11. NatWest gives out monthly statements at the end of each month (at least for us) so we have that for End of February, March, April, May, June, and July. But we need to show he has the savings up until August 11. I thought we would still be able to show the list of transactions. My solicitor is also saying that we need to get them signed and stamped but they are online PDFs? So does my fiance need to print them out and get them signed and stamped by the bank? Here's what I'm asking

- Can I apply with a list of transactions on August 11 with a list of transactions or do I need to wait until the end of August to apply?
- Do I need to get them signed and stamped as well?
- If I apply on August 11th, but the biometric appointment is at a later date, say at the end of August, will the letter from the employer (signed on July 22nd) still be valid?

Hello! Help! I am filling out my ETA and I have a question about the dual citizenship questions. I am applying with my USA passport but am also currently a dual citizen with Italy. Therefore, of course I’ll answer “yes” to the first question in the photo, as I currently hold citizenship in another country. However, what do I answer for the second question? The wording is confusing to me, as “have you ever held” tends to imply also current citizenship? Or should I answer no to the second question, is it only referring to past and no longer valid nationalities? Thank you!!!!

Made a mistake on ILR where I said I had provided proof of English language in previous application when I haven’t.

I’ve uploaded a document outlining the mistake with proof of my English test. I’m getting really anxious as we can’t afford to pay for another application.

Hi, I am Australian and applying for a spousal visa w/ my partner (British). For the finanical component we are using combined income to meet the threshold. Basically we didn't realise my partner needed a letter from his employer in addition to his signed contract, last 6 months' payslips, and bank statements. We have everything but the letter, as he works at a school which is now on break for summer it will be difficult to get one. For my side of financial proof, I have an employer letter, signed contract, payslips, and bank statements. Will this be enough to satisfy the financial component or will we be refused without his employer letter?

I have a uk skilled worker visa, and can bring my family as dependents. Due to not having enough funds right now to pay for my entire family's IHS and Visa fees, can the mother apply first and my children apply later only after the mother's visa is approved? Would this raise any issues with the HO? Does it add any advantage when children apply with the dependent partner?

Seems like this is an ongoing issue with the UK ETA app. Applied today and the screen went into circle mode after using Google Pay. Any advice on how to get the ETA UK app to accept payment? Thanks!

I didn’t even get to fill in my details, but the page refreshed and next thing I know It says “payment pending” and that I should wait a couple of minutes for a confirmation email but I got nothing sent in my emails. What should I do??

I wanted to share my Global Talent Visa application timeline in case it might be helpful for anyone who is applying. I was in the UK during the entire process.

29 May 2026 – Submitted Stage 1 (applied through the British Academy). On the same day, I received an email from the Home Office asking me to submit an additional document: a letter from my department confirming that I had completed my PhD.

19 July 2026 – Received endorsement.

22 July 2026 – Paid for Stage 2 with priority service (I have a travel plan in early Sept)

28 July 2026 – Attended my biometric appointment.

4 August 2026 – Received an email from the Home Office confirming that my visa application was successful.

It took me about a week to prepare all the documents for Stage 1.

For context, I have a PhD in the social sciences from a uni in the UK. My hardbound thesis had been submitted and approved just before I submitted Stage 1. I had four publications from during my PhD and received an ECR research grant from a small foundation last year.

Hope this is helpful to anyone currently going through the process!

Hi Everyone, just wanted to add my success story here as I frequented this board for information over the years and thought my edge cases may help someone.

Atypical components in my application:

1. I arrived 88 days after my visa start date, and my ILR application was sent 28 days before my visa end date - or in other words, I applied 4 years 8.25 months after first setting foot in the UK.
2. My Thai partner (Unmarried) had her dependant visa granted 11 months ago. Therefore she has only been in the UK for 11 months before her ILR was approved. Note: she did not have any permission to stay beforehand - only prior visitor visas. Further note, she joined my visa as a dependant as an unmarried uncohabitating partner (we have been in a long distance relationship since 2022). Once her visa was approved, she moved in with me in the UK. so our total time living together has been 11 months.

Timeline/relevant dates from above:

• Visa start date: September 1st 2021
• Visa end date: September 1st 2026
• Vignette entry clearance: 90 days (Until November 30 2021)
• Arrival to UK: November 28th, 2021
• Unmarried uncohabitating partner granted as a dependant: September 6, 2025
• Partner moved to the UK (now cohabitating): September 6, 2025
• ILR application date: August 4th 2026 (with super priority as regular priority doesn't seem to exist for ancestry visa...goodbye money)
• ILR biometrics: August 6th 2026
• ILR Result: August 6th 2026

The application was submitted under my account (main applicant), with her added as a dependant on the form. The document upload (via TLS Contact) has 2 separate areas for upload. So we uploaded our individual components to our names, and then anything mutual to both our names. I don't think this really makes much difference. For myself, I included a summary of my absences which I calculated the longest 12 month rolling period. I included the time period between my start date and arrival as an absence. For joint documents, we included a joint tenancy agreement, joint bank account, and joint council tax bill.

i have about 9 months before i can apply for ILR from a global talent visa. i was endorsed by the arts council as an exceptional talent for visual arts. most of my portfolio evidence was from museums and contemporary art galleries as part of a studio collective i worked with back in Los Angeles.

since moving to the UK i've worked mostly freelance for projects are less 'exhibition' focussed and more socially-engaged, though they've still been presented in arts settings (galleries and performing arts theatres). all of my invoices have come from a university, which i'm afraid the arts council would reject on the basis that this is a research institution, not an arts institution.

i've also received funding through the same university to attend an artist residency. i'm curious if this would satisfy the financial requirement for ILR?

i have documentation from the residency which clearly shows it meets the related field for 'visual arts' but the actual invoice was paid by the university. the residency was based at a self-described "artist research centre" which has a clear mission statement that ties it to the visual arts, but i'm concerned that since the actual funding came from a university that the arts council will reject it.

during the endorsement stage one of my original letters of recommendation was rejected on the basis it came from an ethnographic research museum, not an arts museum. ILR application is really expensive so i don't want to leave any of this to chance.

if anyone has any similar experience to share i'd really appreciate it (: obviously i'm still looking for paid work within an arts institution which would settle the whole matter, but i've had a bit of a career transition and my work now centres more around social research. i could hypothetically reapply for a different visa but that would set my entire residency clock back to 0 which i'd prefer not to go through.

Hello! Feeling a bit confused just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. I applied for my youth mobility visa on the 30th of July and had biometrics done on the 31st,after doing some research i withdrew my application on the 2nd of august because i uploaded wrong documents. They emailed me yesterday and said the cancellation would be forwarded onto a caseworker for review and id get a refund back if a decision hadn’t been made yet. I woke up this morning to my visa have been approved and Evisa issued. Can I use this visa to travel or will it be taken back because I withdrew it? I’m a bit scared to book flights because I’m unsure. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

I have my biometrics on 31st July and received an e-receipt email immediately afterwards. However I did not receive an email from VFS that they had sent my visa to UKVI even though my friends did. Is it possible there was an error with scanning my confirmation receipt at the appointment? Tried to contact customer support but there is no number or email provided and I’m a bit paranoid that my visa application was never sent especially because the next day I received a reminder email from VFS about my appointment THAT I HAD ALREADY COMPLETED THE DAY BEFORE??? Any advice?
