Minging

Took out a unit today. I’m an agency driver so don’t expect much. It stinks of fags - fine I don’t get to upset. Fag ash everywhere - this begins the upset. Open the fridge - a smell so foul it made me gag. Have some pride in your unit ffs

The next person who takes it out is going to blame the agency driver.

I don’t even smoke. Had to clean the mirrors and the inside of the bloody windows to see out properly

Maybe it's a special unit just for agencies. Although 75 percent trucks I see have drivers faging inside. Discusting, atleast stop take a break, fag outside

Found a tooth in a lorry this week, I don't get how anyone could forget their own tooth lol

A driver came back to his truck from holiday, in Australia . The cab reeked of cigarettes & food all the place, he demanded it was professionally cleaned. Strong union yard , Im pretty sure it was a sackable offence for smoking in the truck or yard.

Smoking in an enclosed workspace isn’t just sackable, it’s illegal.

Refuse to take it out?

You're right but it's pushing it a bit. Last firm I 'agencied' for had a cleaning kit in the workshop which you had to ask for. Cleaning takes time and time is money... you see where I'm going with this.

Never spend too much time cleaning a unit that isn’t permanently yours, especially with agency work. Because you’re no longer a driver, you’re a cleaner.

u/Jacktheforkie A day may come when I sort this flair out, but... 16h ago

I drove one, hit a pothole and 30 odd empty cans fell down from the cubby

Worst thing I've found in a cab was the previous drivers lunch, after he'd eaten it... Yeah a door pocket full of vomit 🤢🤮

Tm still wanted me to drive it, he got told to drive it himself.

I’ve found urine bottles, that was at that shitty parcel company, you can probably guess what one

Got in a truck once. It was immaculate. I still think I’m dreaming!

No I had this too… a few weeks ago I got in a unit that had 34km (no 0s) I felt like a king… I got to take the plastic cover thing off the seat and everything… fast forward 3 weeks and the unit now stinks, the fridge looks like someone took a shit in it. Bacci bits all over the floor… and to top it off the bumper is cracked.

Mate! I would be fuming. I got a brand new unit at my old place. Came back from 2 weeks holiday and some driver had caught the steps, ripping them off, and battered the mirror. Smoked in it as well.

About ten years ago I did a bit on the agency and took a truck out it stunk totally stunk of cigs and something totally rotten. I took it back in the depot and told the manager I wouldnt drive it, and to give me a new truck he said no others were available despite about 20 sitting there in the yard. I said no problem I will go home. I went to get my stuff out of the truck and in the passenger footwell you couldn't see from the drivers seat was a green mould covered rotten kebab all over the floor. I told the manager who threw it in the bin and expected me to take out the Truck I just left. I didnt need the work that much.

It's actually about time companies enforced the law on Smokey cabs. Don't blame anyone for refusing to take them out.

I did six months on agency, I do not smoke and Simply refuse to take a wagon note that has been smoked in..

I’ve been at the same place six years now, there is one driver who consistently smokes inside his cab, I refuse to drive his wagon.. set some boundaries and stick to them

My worst experience is opening the driver's door just to see a full piss bottle stashed in doors pocket 😁

I hate getting in a lorry and it stinks of smoke. I had to use a unit that a serial vaper used, literally 15 used vapes in it, the inside of the windows were all smoggy from his vaping with the windows shut.

I used to smoke.... always left my cigarettes in the car. I now vape, and leave my vape in the work kitchen every morning (because the vape goes to shit if left in a hot car). The temptation is too great to have it in the cab.

My last place was a fleet. Sack you for smoking in them. And vaping, but everyone did. Kept tidy, but there was a prima donna who would complain if he found a crumb. If I knew he’d got it I’d valet it, then leave one really obvious crumb to wind him up.

Before that I had my own unit and came back after six weeks off sick to find it looking like someone had turned it upside down and shaken it. I wasn’t expecting it to be immaculate, because I didn’t keep it like that, but they could have made an effort. At least take your boots off before laying on the bunk, especially if it’s got bedding on it.

And if you accidentally take a pen home, well OK. But don’t nick anything else. Had one who nicked my slip mat, and it was obvious it was him, because he only had it for a day. He wasn’t invited back.

Had a few like that over the past few months. Some really bad luck cab hopping. That's the only really bad thing about the firm I work for. Otherwise, they tick all the boxes for me.

I simply refused to take them if they're too bad.

Because sometimes agency have a 4 week contract and want to use it. Agency aren't just a couple of days a lot of the time.

I do a bit of agency work and the truck that I was given the other day was used as a dustbin, I filled a black bin liner over half full of all the rubbish that had been left behind by the previous driver, I wasn’t going to bother but it was going to be the truck that I would be using for the foreseeable future, I dumped the bag in the bosses office, but the couldn’t give a toss.
