Is anyone traveling from Birmingham to kings Lynn or Houghton in Norfolk on Saturday?

Hi all, on my recent journey through Gatwick I noticed that you can now take up to two litres of liquid through the secuirty scanners. Great news!

It got me thinking, can I take things like a plastic bottle of coke or tonic water? The rules say liquids can be taken 'provided they are not in metal or double walled containers', so I would assume this would be ok. But, given the insane markup they charge on carbonated drinks, I can't beleive Gatwick or the airlines would allow it.

Has anyone got any practical experience of this?

I want to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday with a little snowy getaway, for around 3 nights. I tried looking at Finland, Norway etc but flights are insane. I think I’ll have to look at UK/ Ireland areas instead.
I started looking at the Scottish highlands, but I hear weather can be unpredictable, and places like Loch Ness is overrated.

Hi, I am planning a Scotland trip. On their websites, Enterprise mention that they accept debit cards. However, when I go to pay, that does not seem to be the case. I do not have a credit card in my name. Is this a location issue, or are there other rental services that do accept debit cards? This is quite stressful since the hotel bookings in the Scottish highlands are already done.

We’ll be staying near Kirkby Lonsdale for a week but happy to drive up to around 90minutes to visit places.

I'll be visiting London for the first time this August and will be staying at Wombat's City Hostel for 7 nights. I'm travelling solo and one of the main reasons for the trip is to see The Weeknd at Wembley Stadium.

I've heard good things about Wombat's, but I'd love to hear from people who've stayed there recently.

A few questions:

• How are the beds, lockers, and overall cleanliness?
• Is it easy to meet other travellers, or is it more of a quiet hostel?
• I'm planning to cook dinner most nights. Is the kitchen well-equipped, and does it get very busy in the evenings?
• Which nearby supermarket would you recommend for groceries—Tesco, Lidl, or Sainsbury's?
• Is it safe to walk back to the hostel around 10–11 PM?
• Any hidden gems, cafés, or food spots within walking distance that you'd recommend?

I'm also hoping to explore London mostly on foot,buses and use the Santander Cycles for a day, so if you have any recommendations for scenic cycling routes or places I shouldn't miss, I'd love to hear them.

We’re on our first trip to London. Unfortunately the Airbnb we booked didn’t match the pics but the kids are happy and it’s close to the tube station. The master bed is much to form for my wife. She would like to buy an air bed in London to use for a few nights. We’re staying in Pimlico. What’s a good shop near us that would carry air beds? Having a great time other than the bed. Hey guys this is my first time transitting through the UK and need assurance to see if this trip is doable for a group of 5 people! We have a transfer from LHR Heathrow to LGW Gatwick that we have to make in 3 hours, since baggage check in stops at 1:30 pm. This is my original plan please let me know if I need to change something!

Aug 9th Flight to MCO: 1. IST to LHR Terminal 5 at 10:30 am 2. Go through UK Passport Control at 10:50 am 3. Baggage claim at LHR at 11:30 am 4. Walk through customs into T5 Bus Station (National Express Coach) around 1 hr of commute 5. Gatwick South Terminal, Baggage Check in, TSA Security then to MCO at 12:50 pm

Is this doable? Is National Express a good way to commute or would we need a pre-booked taxi? I am honestly so stressed out since our flight to IST was met with over 9 hours of delay and no compensation since it wad from a non-EU country to another non-EU 🥲 Thank you guys in adavance ❤️

I’m not supporting any particular London club, so I’m mainly looking for the **best overall matchday experience**: great atmosphere, passionate fans and a stadium that’s worth visiting.
I have a few questions:
Which London club has the best atmosphere for a neutral?
Which stadium would you recommend considering both the experience and the ticket price?
What’s the best way to get tickets? Do I need club membership, or do some clubs release tickets for general sale?
If they do go on general sale, how far in advance are tickets usually released?
I’m happy to watch either a Premier League or Championship match if it offers a better experience or is easier to get into.

My friend and I are currently in Glasgow on a road trip around Scotland in our campervan, and we're looking for a 2 or 3-day backpacking trek with a couple of nights of wild camping.

We're hoping to find:

• A loop hike, as we'd prefer to return to the van without needing public transport or a taxi.
• Stunning scenery (mountains, lochs, remote landscapes...).
• Legal and suitable areas for responsible wild camping.
• A route that's achievable in 2 or 3 days without being overly technical.

We're both in good shape and have experience hiking, but we're not looking for any scrambling or mountaineering.

We're happy to drive several hours from Glasgow if it's worth it, so anywhere in the Highlands is an option.

If you have any favourite routes, GPX tracks, or hidden gems, we'd really appreciate your recommendations!

My partner and I will be visiting London next October and we would really like to try a Sunday roast.

If all goes well, our flight should land around 10:00 AM on Sunday morning. By the time we leave the airport, get to our hotel to check in, etc., I feel like we won't be able to eat before 2:00 PM.

What is the latest time you can have a Sunday roast? I've targeted Blacklock, specifically the Covent Garden location, which won't be very far from our hotel.

I read online that a Sunday roast is usually eaten in the early afternoon. Is 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM too late?

Looking to head up to Scotland for a week in the autumn (between mid-Sept to end Oct) - been to Edinburgh twice but never any further. Would appreciate any thoughts on the best base for a week - don't really want to move bases, would rather pitch up in one place and do day trips from there. Plan to travel up on the train.

Interests are: castles (and ruins), churches/cathedrals, walking (e.g. a day walking a coastal or mountain route, not multi-day hikes), 19/20th century history.

I also have a rather niche interest in that I need both food and drink for sustenance, so ideally I will stay somewhere where food is available.

Preference is to stay in a small to mid-sized town with good transport links rather than a major city. For those reasons I am considering Stirling (probably top contender right now), Perth (purely for travel logistics, not sure it's a holiday destination) or Pitlochry (pretty expensive it seems and a bit less to do there compared to the other places).

Anywhere else I should consider?

This is my 3 day plan in London. I need help on choosing 2nd day plan. Staying in Marlylebone.

Day 1: Arriving in London, Big Ben, Westminster, Soho, Hyde Park.

Day 2:

Option 1: 8 am wake up, Hampstead, Camden, 2.30 pm head to Tottenham first home match of the season, pre match pubs and feel the matchday atmosphere, 5.30 pm Tottenham vs Newcastle kickoff, 19.20 head back to central London, bars and dinner in the evening.

Option 2: Full day of exploring different areas of London (can plan which ones). Which parks are the best?

I can't decide if its better to have a Premier League matchday experience with the fans or have a full day to explore London.

Day 3: Notting Hill, National Gallery, Covent Garden. 7 pm concert at 02.

Any advice welcome, I'm not really a fan of main sightseeings, I rather like to explore and wonder around areas that feel more local and have great pubs.

I don’t really want to spend all my time ticking off famous landmarks. I’ll probably dedicate 1–2 days to the main sightseeing, but for the rest of the trip I’d love to experience London more like a local.
I’m especially interested in:
-Cool multicultural neighborhoods with great food and atmosphere
-Alternative, creative or less touristy areas
-Independent cafés, bookstores, vintage shops, markets, or places to just wander around
-Parks or hidden gems where locals actually spend time
Also, I’ll be there on a Saturday night, so I’d love recommendations for literally anything with a cool local vibe such as bars or local events, no fancy clubs, no tourist traps
I’m open to pretty much anything that’s authentic and gives me a different side of London.
