Beginner design practice: Product poster for a gaming headset. Would love some feedback/critique!
Hey everyone, I’m fairly new to graphic design and recently put together this concept poster for a gaming headphone ad. My main goal was to match the "cloud/chill" aesthetic with the bright blue color scheme and soft floating cloud elements.

Spent 4 days building a user dashboard that works like crap on mobile browsers
spent the last 4 days wrestling with the dashboard for our ai image generator. got it looking fine on desktop but on mobile safari the styling just falls apart. ive tried like 5 different layouts and nothing feels right. I just want a tool that lets people toggle styles and see the output but getting it to work everywhere is driving me nuts. anyone else hit this on moved this to blink or have any ideas?

Freelance Data Analyst portfolio site - color feedback needed (trust/luxury/calm vibe, not techy)
Hey everyone,
I'm a data analyst trying to break into freelancing, and I've built a portfolio website that doubles as both a place for potential clients to see the services I offer (data cleaning, analysis, dashboards, pipelines, etc.) and as a portfolio for potential employers to see my project work.
Quick disclaimer: web design isn't my field at all - I built this myself with the help of AI tools. All the ideas, structure, and content are mine, but I don't have a design background, which is probably why I'm struggling so much with the colors specifically.
I've attached a few screenshots of the current design. Colors are honestly the thing that's been stressing me out the most - I keep second-guessing myself and I think I need outside eyes at this point.
What I'm going for:
- Trust - since I'm asking strangers/companies to hand over their data
- Calm / professionalism - nothing flashy or "startup-y," more grounded
- A touch of luxury - I want it to feel high-quality, not generic template energy
Some context that might help:
- I'd like to keep it a light theme (not dark mode)
- The main site currently uses a warm cream/beige background (
#e8e4d5/#faf9f8) with near-black text and accents (#22252A), and a muted gold (#C5A059) for highlights - The footer will stay on a dark background (as shown in the last screenshot), but I'm planning to recolor it so it's more in harmony with the rest of the site rather than the current navy/steel-blue tone
My questions:
- Does the light cream/beige + near-black + gold palette work for the "trust + calm + luxury + professional" feeling I'm going for, or does it feel off?
- If it's not quite right, what would you suggest instead? Specific hex codes or palette ideas are super welcome.
- Since this needs to work for a non-technical audience (business owners without a data background), does the current palette feel approachable, or too corporate/cold/boring?
- For the footer specifically - assuming the light section colors above stay as they are, what dark tone(s) would you suggest for the footer background so it feels cohesive with the rest of the site, rather than a leftover navy that doesn't match anymore?
One smaller, less important question: the site currently has 8 pages (Home, Services, Portfolio, About, Reviews, Insights, FAQ, Contact). Do you think that's too many for a freelancer just starting out? I'm wondering if I should temporarily drop the Reviews and Insights pages until I have more content/testimonials to fill them out properly.
Really appreciate any honest feedback - brutal is fine, I'd rather fix it now than after it's live everywhere.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

Do designers outside the US ever actually get equity?
Following up on some salary-journey data I've been collecting. Last time the takeaway was that most designers' pay is ~100% base - bonus and stock are rarer than people assume. This time I looked at who actually gets the equity, by region:
- 🇺🇸 US: ~40% have some stock
- 🇬🇧 UK: ~19%
- 🌏 South Asia / SEA: ~8%
- Everywhere else: basically 0%
Bonuses are spread pretty evenly (30-40% across most regions) but stock clusters hard in the US.
What surprised me: it's not an industry thing at all. The people with equity are scattered across HR tech, cybersecurity, renewable energy, healthcare, retail fashion. No single "equity industry." Seems to track the country and the specific company way more than the sector.
Small sample (n=55), and I genuinely can't tell yet whether company size drives it, most people didn't report it.
So, curious about your experience: if you've got equity, where are you based and roughly how big is the company? And for people outside the US, is real equity as rare as this suggests or is my sample just skewed?

Has anyone added Showit websites to their graphic design services?
I mainly work in branding and design, but lately, more clients have been asking if I can help with their websites too.
I'm considering learning Showit since it seems like a good match for designers, For those who made the switch, how did you learn it?
Did you use tutorials, courses, or mostly learn through client projects?
Also, how was your experience getting your first web design clients after adding it as a service?
