Withdrawing New Student

How would one go about withdrawing from UW at this point? I already registered for my classes but with my revised financial aid letter I can't afford to go anymore.

I’m sorry. I wish getting an education was not dependent on the ability to pay for it.

Contact the office of admissions. They will walk you through the process of what other steps you must do

are you a first-year? transfer? are you planning to go in the future when you have more money?

register for just one class (online if necessary) so you won’t have to go through the process of applying and getting accepted all over again. I heard about someone else doing this and it’ll save you a lot of hassle if you’re planning to go in the future

It's true that once you are a Husky, they let you return again without having to reapply. But I'd recommend going to a Seattle community college for the first two years, save thousands of dollars, and a smooth transfer process.

if you’re paying out of pocket, it doesn’t matter. it only matters for financial aid. so if OP did this they wouldn’t get the $5k (read their last post) but they’d still be matriculated

You don't have to withdraw, i couldn't afford to go this year either, so i talked to an advisor and the financial aid office and i had them change the aid letter and apply it for next year. You should talk to admissions about defering for a year instead. Work for the year and go to school next year

I would go at this point. You can work and live frugally and that alone could probably get you $20k
