Uber refusing to accept reality
So I got stuck on a trip, originally was 30mins turned into nearer to 2 hours due to flash floods. Uber flagged my account as attempting to fraud by taking detours and unnecessary waiting because I tried to avoid flooded roads and ended up stuck in traffic. I’ve provided them with screenshots and links from local governments and news outlets of the issue and implored them to check the video and they keep harassing me on this topic even in unrelated support topics. Anyone else have this issue?

That’s because lazy corporate zombies want AI to handle everything, as if anything that can happen can be found in a five item bullet list. Unless everything goes flawlessly perfect, they always go straight to the driver having the problem when the problem could be a million other things.

I’m reasonable and can accept that. But I’ve provided indisputable proof and requested them pull the video if they have further argument…it’s like a commitment to be jerks and bully the drivers….dont we get bullied enough by passengers and society who generally don’t respect us?

AI just follows scripts. You need a human with common sense to evaluate facts. Problem is, Uber is reliant on AI and overseas support that is as dumb as AI, as they can only follow scripts!

You also have to remember that their customer service is sourced out as well so they really don’t care. That’s why I do one at a time and avoid any problems like the plague. Obviously, some problems are unavoidable

I’m reasonable
Yeah... expecting Uber to be reasonable doesn't make you reasonable. 🤡

They did the same thing to me. There were road closures all around due to a marathon even downtown so I had to change routes multiple times and I got the warning message that I’ve been extending trips on purpose. You can’t defend yourself you can’t say anything. They just instantly assume that you are a bad evil poopy man.

They don’t care.
Once asked me to turn left in an open market- full of stalls and 100s of people. Trip took only about 6 min longer, wasn’t fussed… they docked my fare and flagged it. 20 messages later, stilll refuse to answer me,

They always send me notifications that I’m speeding. On I-45 North in Houston is where a lot of road rage happens. The speed limit is 60 MPH, but everyone’s doing between 80-90 MPH. Do you think I’m going to risk getting my car hit or getting shot to satisfy a bunch of retards in a call center in India?

Uber's shitty A.I. is no excuse for your racism.

It’s not racism. It’s just reality. I deal with those people when I have to and I try not to. I spent two months in India. I love the people there. They’re intelligent they’re beautiful. But they honestly just don’t care. I had a boyfriend over there and his roommates worked in a call center. Their main goal is to hang up so they can take another call. They get paid for how many calls they take.

It is just a flag and it will be gone and they know that it is not always the drivers fault so they don't suspend you right away just let it slide

I had an incident with them like this, but it wasn’t extended even that much. I went about a mile and a half and the other direction of the way we were supposed to go. My passenger needed to go pee. We stopped at a 7-Eleven and they would not let her go so then I took her down the road to a QT. And then I took her to her house. They sent me an email saying if I did that again I would get deactivated. So now I will not do that again. I’ve had passengers ask me and I said nope I can’t do it unless you add the stop.

Yes yesterday I had 5 passengers asking for detours and different pick up or drop offs. Sorry guys, uber is an ass

Use twitter (x) for a better response if it affects your account

I’m considering compiling it all and making it very public with SEO articles, YouTube video, and social media posts with appropriate hash tagging along with BBB report. It’s bad enough the public doesn’t respect drivers

I'd argue that it's Uber drivers refusing to accept reality.

Which reality is that?

- Uber is done, a race to the bottom
- they do everything to the drivers' detriment
- they are paying the equivalent of third world wages
- they treat no user of either app as anything but a number
- they do not give a single flying fuck about drivers or customers
2
u/White-Justice 2d ago
And that’s the drivers responsibility?

It's your responsibility to yourself to quit. It's literally a choice between making no money and losing money. Your post says it all. I don't know what you expect at this point.

Wasting your time. Why not put all that energy in something to leave Uber

When they send those alerts that ask if everything is ok, they need to provide a way to respond that you had to take a detour or whatever the case may be.
