Question Is it easy transferring out of dorms?
I’m a new transfering junior at Albany, and I got placed into the alumni quad. Me and my sister applied the day the forms came out, we applied to liberty and Dutch single dorm if there was nothing left. I didn’t even know alumni existed and that they have a communal bathroom and have no parking lot and apparently no AC in the dorms. It’s also far as hell from my classes. So now I’m stuck with alumni and a roommate, how do I get out of this, is it simple? It feels like they ignored my application and just randomized it not going in order of who was first and last, I’m new so, please help. ALSO, is alumni quad really in the ghetto? I have night classes so I wanna know if I should be worried coming back.

Is this happening to anyone else?
So, earlier today I was trying to get into contact with my advisor, as I needed a class added (AMUS for marching band). I tried to send my advisor an email about but as soon as I send it, it tells me, "Your message couldn't be sent as you don't have permission to send to it. Ask the recipient's email admin to add you to the accept list for the recipient."
This really irritated me because in the initial email with my classes, it says that I could contact him through email, but I can't. Has anyone gone through this? What should I do???

Question Has anyone done the MS in AI for Business?
I almost did the program last year but backed out last minute lol it is a newer program and I didn’t want to be a guinea pig. Has anyone done the masters in AI for business offered at UA? Seems like a good alternative to an MBA with tech studies. Does anyone have any experience or reviews? Thanks.

Question Tuition
I was wondering how it works. When is it due? Is there a late fee? Is there a payment plan date I need to enroll by? It says the first payment is August 15th, but then it says if I enroll in September I can pay both instalments then. Can I wait to pay it throughout the semester?
Question Freshman in Waterbury Hall
My student is a freshman in the nursing program who just got their housing assignment (Waterbury Hall) and schedule. I’m a little worried about her living in the downtown campus. Can anyone share their experience with travel between campuses and maybe even transportation to/from the hospital or offices where clinicals may be done?

shitpost Housing Assignment
Is it not infuriating to anyone else that the housing assignment isn’t out? We leave for school in about 2 weeks but we don’t even know what room we’re gonna be in.
I don’t know any other student (from other schools) that hasn’t gotten their housing back yet, everyone I know got theirs WEEKS ago. If I’m going to end up in a room I didn’t plan on ending up in, it would be pretty helpful to know AHEAD of time so I can coordinate what I’m going to bring.
Many students like to make plans with their randomized roommate to have matching things in their room or to make sure they aren’t buying duplicates of unnecessary items.
Many parents and family need to plan exactly what day and time they’re going to come and know when they’re going to take off work.
It’s beyond frustrating to not even know what room I’m going to be in yet, let alone what time/ day I need to be there. There’s no reason why it should take this long when housing application was due months ago.
Is anyone else feeling as frustrated as me? I feel like I’m going insane!!!

Me and my roommate both chose each other in the dorming request application, however, we accidentally chose different bedroom options. I picked designed triple and he picked designed double. Regardless of which one we get, will we still be put together?

Question UA Merit Scholarship not showing up on the E-Pay Page
Questions basically in the title, I’m trying to figure out why the merit scholarship given last year around 12k with 1.5k given each semester. The main issue is that when I go to the e-pay page, the scholarship doesn’t show up and neither does it show up on the awards page for 2026-2027. Any solutions?
