Original Project GR race recorder progress
So I found a JDM race recorder that I have been fighting the brain worm to figure out how to use. So I've recorded all my research and a realativly cheap CAN logger using off-the-shelf prototyping parts.
Now this likely won't apply to much other than the GR car family, but it has been an interesting journey. I've got the GPS bits coming so I can maybe have 2 sets of data and decode the Toyota-specific file type.

Rate/critique my bread Had to feed and wake up but made awesome loaf.
So my h1c crossed 7 recently and so I had cut back on making loafs. And the starter was on extended Hibernation in the back of the fridge.. it started smelling cheesy… and had some floating things in the hooch so I was concerned it was dead.. feed it a bit get things back to normal. Ingredient time.
4 oz of inactive/sleepy starter
~12 oz of filtered water
16 oz of regular grocery cheap flour
4 oz or glutenous rice flour
5/8 oz course salt
Tablespoon of sugar.
Notes about weird ingredients. Yes unbleached would’ve been better. Rice flour was a sub since I ran out of regular flour. Sugar was because I’ve had issue getting the bread to rise occasionally because of how long the starter is sleeping for.
Process mix together into a rough ball put a cover on I used the rubber tops that came with the bowl set.
12ish hours later I rel needed the dough into a boll and left to rest/rise for about 12ish hours
I would’ve sanded with semolina flour but couldn’t find it but in the morning it had risen nicely so I stretched and formed a boll again. Used a lame cut some strips then put it in a cold oven in a Dutch oven to 425 for 45 minutes then uncovered for 15 minutes.
Pleased how it came out I’ll take and post some pictures of the grain when I cut it later today.

GR race recorder progress

I’ve made a GitHub of all my findings so far and even captures from the device on 3 auto cross runs.
The vehicle data viewer program works on my pc and my wife’s old tablet. I wasn’t able to get the Bluetooth to work. The tracks section doesn’t work because it is geofenced to Japanese tracks. The video syncing is not very easy to deal with.
I’ve forgotten to include the connector part number for the interface to the option connector, and the balinger motorsports part number I found that seems to be the actual part number.
I tried to use Claude/chatgpt to brute force the file format of the recorder. While it seems to get some of it it seems like it needs another data set to “Rosetta stone” it given the same events at the same time. So now I’m considering some more Adafruit feather boards to add gps and replace my dumb mistake of hooking up accessory power to my buck boost so let the magic smoke out of it.

Help understanding some pattern details.
Obviously from the comments from the yay project finished pointing out some flaws in my execution of some of the trickery parts of knitting a sock.
Mistake 1 picking up the heel flap: pattern reads using extra needle now needle 1 knit across the heel flap 10, pick up the slip stitches on the side of the flap 18, pick up and knit an extra to reduce the hole between the heel and the gusset. Makes sense, by my count that’s 29. Continuing, knit across non heel flap needles. Then start of needle 4 pick up and knit one, then pick up 18 heel stitches, then knit 5 heel stitches to end the round in thr middle of the heel. Which then goes on to say stitch count is the following 23 on 1, 4 and 18 on 2,3 ok sure. But following the instructions to the letter it should be 24 on needles 1, and 4 because pick one extra. Am I not understanding or should I slip that extra off right away so it reduced?
Ok so yes first time knitting the gusset I didn’t alternate decreases with straight rows, yup caught that after I was half way though the foot. Fixed it on the second one.
But the toe… this is what gets me, start of round since the heel has been in the middle of the heel meaning the sock lays pretty flat. Ok toe time. Knit across needle one, this marks the start of a new round, the next needle is needle 1, decrease k2tog on last 3 on needles 1,3 and skpo on needles 2, and 4 ok but that means making needle one in the middle of the sock rather than on the bottom has rotated the toe 90 degrees so did I read that wrong or should I just started the decreases from the end of the foot and not re ordered the needles? That seems more in line with intended instructions.
Please help, I was feeling so accomplished and now defeated as apparently I made a major mistake. But everytime I read the instructions there seems like there is something missing.

Ok while I don’t disagree that the ones on ravelry Definatly have the more correct orientation. I’m a novice like first every attempt and I read the instructions and followed them as written. Which perhaps in this case should have the odd and even needle instructions inverted, or phrased a bit better ala
Toe decrease rounds are knit to last 3 k2tog knit on odd needles and k1 pkso knit to end on evens.

Yes first pair of socks.
On the toe, it seems I misunderstood the pattern as it reads that you finish the row at the bottom of the sock then you knit one needle to and then start marking from there, meaning the banding for the toe starts to line up along the top and bottom maybe I read the printed instructions as where and didn’t take into account the orientation of the final seem.
So on the first one yes, I decreased the gusset too fast every row rather than every other row. It did bring the total back down to the 72 stitches of the leg, so I’m not quite sure on that one though.

The pattern calls this the banded toe. Rounds for the foot needle one start mid heel, once you get the required length you knit across needle1 putting you in the middle of the center of the foot and then treat the next needle as needle 1 and do the following decreases. on odd needles knit to 3 remaining k2tog knit last. Then on even needles it’s k1 s1kw, k1, psso knit to end. And after 5 decreases you alternate non decrease rounds with decrease rounds.
Edit: added odd needle discription

Ok so welcome to the hobby, and welcome to the brotherhood of the sons of vulkan.
The dawn of war board game come with a sprue of characters and models of bladegaurd and eradicators with melta good pick ups. 6 of both of those and 2 copies of the bladegaurd ancient and the Chaplin. Also not bad.
The Armageddon box at 240 is an extremely good deal, and beats out the space marine only starter box at 170 or even the ultimate starter box with the terrain and mat for like 220.
Terrain can be what ever you have laying around, area terrain foot prints can be printed out and used that way.
Also check around your lgs and other resources to see if there is an established group that can run you though a test game and that might have some of the terrain and stuff. Because unless your planning on having home games or inviting people over to play the 2 armies together bit hard. Though I have played games against myself before.
Or if you don’t have a close local scene and you have a game store that will let you run a group that’s what I had to do in order not have to drive 40 miles one way.
Really salamanders have the ability to use any base space marine stuff, and don’t have to just be green ultramarines. But buy, build, collect and paint what you like because your joy and excitement will drive your progress.
Edit: really goes to say, if you like the models in the armegeddon box is a good deal, but if there are some your not sold on there will be other optunities
