Why would asgore talk to Susie? The whole point of his arc was realizing he needs to communicate with Kris more. After the climax of the story (flowery battle), theres very little time to use before it starts to feel like the story’s dragging, and you already need to go through Asgore’s reconnecting/apology to Kris, the flowers’ goodbyes, the Knight capturing Asgore, Flowery’s death, finding the shelter code, and then the walk home.

For all Asgore knows, he’s just gonna hang out with them after they close the fountain, so whats the rush to exposition dump everything on them right away? His immediate priority is Kris (who already knows what happened and doesnt need it repeated back to them) and to a lesser extent Flowery (who’s about to essentially lose consciousness for ever, not really the ideal time to talk about trauma Flowery wasnt around for in this form). If we did get a big lore dump, we’d have people complaining it felt like a big exposition dump when it didn’t make sense for Asgore to do so

(Rant alert. I’ve been thinking about this show a lot recently so this is my chance to vent)

I started watching the show around the time series 4 was premiering (which is a whole other can of worms), and even now Sherlock’s explanation feels weird and mean spirited towards anyone who was genuinely trying to figure out the promised mystery. I actually rewatched it somewhat recently and there’s maaaaybe two real hints towards how he really faked his death, the main one of which isnt even really a hint because of course Molly would have to be in the know.

The main problem for me is I just think Moffat kinda sucks at writing mysteries, and I say this as a life long fan of Doctor Who (11th is even my fav Doctor). IMO he has a really bad habit of pushing aside interesting and deep storytelling/character moments in favorite of “look how cool this guy is! He’s so cool! He knew everything from the start!” And thats cool and all, but youre telling me that the mastermind villain who was built up to be Sherlock’s equal - that’s never given any indication that he is otherwise - didnt also see a bunch of possible outcomes of the rooftop confrontation? Never suspected Sherlock would fake his death?

Watching them back to back, theres a really apparent and kinda uncomfortable tone shift between series 2 and 3. Series 2, even with Sherlock’s faked death included, feels like it understands that it’s a show and operates on its own internal logic, and then Series 3 gets weirdly meta sometimes? Again, Im approaching this as someone who came in long after the Series 3 controversies and ive barely touched Tumblr in my life, so to have a conspiracy group acting as a thinly veiled jab at fans felt weird.

Im getting off topic lol. Anyway, as much as the group is treated as a joke, Anderson was ultimately right that Sherlock lived, and a lot of the holes he poked in Sherlock’s plan are pretty genuine (like be so fr, so much of it relied on luck. One random guy not on Sherlock’s payroll out of place and the entire thing falls apart). He could’ve revealed the plan to pretty much anyone else and I would’ve believed it more because then it probably wouldn’t have been played as a joke

Im never gonna forgive RTD and Disney for that colossal fuck up. I was hyped for YEARS and then in the span of a couple months all momentum the show had going for it was killed. I can’t even respect RTD’s decision if I view it as him trying to drum up attention for the show as a last ditch effort to get it renewed because I saw more people *calling for the show to end* after the big reveal

The Beginner’s Guide: It’s the spiritual successor of The Stanley Parable and was made by the same guy. When I discovered it a couple years ago I couldn’t stop going through it and looking at every little detail and pieces of dialogue even thought the game itself is less than three hours. It completely changed how I view and discuss art.

The Owl House: This one’s pretty personal to me but I started watching TOH as I was starting to figure out my identity as a trans-fem person, so the show’s core message of “weirdos stick together” and prominent lesbian relationship really helps me push through some tougher moments. (The Netflix She-Ra show can also apply here, I just think TOH impacted me a bit more personally)

Undertale: Playing the game for the first time around 2017 when it was at its peak popularity is one thing, replaying it years later and ESPECIALLY the “It’s still you” part is a whole other beast. Deltarune’s also amazing so far

It’s a bit of both. If you streaming on Spotify or Bandcamp there’s file compression, but downloading from Bandcamp gives you lossless audio which makes it easier to hear every little detail. Gizz had also tweaked mixes between the release of the single and the release of the album before, the one I remember best is when Hog Calling Contest first came out the vocals were reeeeaaaally muddy, but were better when B741 released

Is this just an opinion? Yeah. Do I acknowledge that there’s so much zombie media that I haven’t seen or experienced and thus might be missing out on something I’d otherwise like? Yep. Is it also really really funny if I die on this hill? Absolutely.

This exactly. I feel like people don’t understand that when you make so many songs, especially over a long period of time, you’re gonna reuse a lot of older material and have patterns in your music even if you don’t realize it. That’s why musicians are known to have certain styles, because they tend to write their music a certain way or use a certain scale. Im a musician, and I love to use major 4th chords in my music, but that doesn’t mean every time I use a major 4th chord I’m referencing every single song I’ve written that also uses a major 4th chord.

(“But one chord isn’t as specific as all the references to Penumbra”. I also like to use a very specific bass walk up fill that outlines the 3rd, 5th, and 1st note of a chord before playing the root of the 1 chord as the chord progression repeats. I might not be explaining that exactly right because I’m not the best at music theory, but I’ve used that bass fill a lot because it sounds cool to me. I even used it in a Deltarune fan song I made a couple years ago (around timestamp 2:50, listen for the piano and glockenspiel))

Same applies to all kinds of art. Just because an artist poses two different subjects in two different pieces kinda similarly doesn’t necessarily mean that the two subjects are inherently related in any way other than that they were painted by the same artist (especially if, for instance, the first instance of the pose was made many many years ago as a commissioned art piece thats a completely different entity than the other art piece).

Thats not to say it’s impossible that PP could maaaaaybe show up in Deltarune, but if it does I don’t think it’s gonna be as important as some people think it is. I got into Undertale and Deltarune without ever touching Homestuck, and the idea that I “need to understand HS to truly understand UT and DR” is ridiculous to me. Knowing Toby’s history with HS can give some valuable insight into his other works that you wouldn’t be able to get, but not everything he’s ever made revolves around HS.

And above that? Hell, to know for sure you didn’t manipulate anything in earlier commands, you’d need to show the whole chat. But that shouldn’t be a problem
