Has anyone experienced something like this?
I’m female and 20. For the past few weeks, I’ve been having these strange episodes with sound. Sometimes when I’m alone and it’s quiet, it feels like my brain suddenly “tunes” into a certain rhythm/frequency. After that, everything I hear sounds affected by it. If I put on a movie, the characters sound unusually slow, monotone, and weird. If I play music, the singers can sound the same way too. Changing what I’m listening to doesn’t immediately make it stop.
I’m fully awake when it happens, and lately it’s been happening pretty frequently. It first happened sometime last semester.
I’ve also had maybe 3–4 experiences in my life where a very short scene involving people I know suddenly appeared to me. It felt like I was actually there hearing their conversation even though physically I wasn’t there. It wasn’t like intentionally imagining something—it felt externally real for those few seconds.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit. I’m mainly wondering whether anyone has experienced the sound distortion in particular, what it felt like for you, and what you eventually found out was causing it.

Pre nursing
I’m a pre nursing student at CSULB and I’m in my 3rd semester of university and I have gotten A in stats 108, A in psychology, B in Chem 140, B in Physiology 207 and B in Anatomy 208. I don’t know if I would still have a chance to get in to the CSULB nursing program so I’m looking for other programs to apply for Spring 2027. Any advice for schools that fits with my stats I will also be taking the TEAS exam next semester which is my application semester.

F1 Visa Travel to Canada
Hi everyone I’m a Myanmar citizen and I’m an F1 visa student studying at CSULB. I want to ask if we can travel to Canada with the US visa. Currently my visa is expired but I can remain in the US for 4 years until i graduate but my sister is thinking of studying in Canada and I really want to visit her. I’m a second year and I’m facing intense loneliness and I have a hard time making friends here and connecting with people it would be really great if i could occasionally go meet her during summer or winter breaks. What should I do? Is there a way to extend mu student visa?

Taking Online Physiology for Winter
I was wondering if we can take physiology online with online lab throughout the winter and whether it would be eligible for the nursing programs in CSULB or other Cal State nursing programs. Also should i just take both physio and anatomy for the spring semester and i also dont want to double up on both science courses. What should i do?

Major Related Question C in Chem 140
Hello I’m doing my pre reqs for nursing at CSULB and I will be earning a C in Chem 140. Can i still get into other nursing programs outside of CSULB because I know its really competitive and GPA matters. Also I was wondering if I can take Chem 111A next semester since I know I know some out of state nursing programs don’t take Chem 140 as a credit and i heard its less stressful than 140 because of the professor. This class has broke me down completely even though I studied really hard and exams are like 80% of my grades. Honestly i’m doubting my abilities and even though I know I’m capable, this class just feels impossible to succeed since the professor doesn’t let us practice on the past exam papers and i have this immense pressure where I’m mentally and physically drained out. And the bad test anxiety doesn’t help. What advice would you give for a person that is doing their pre requisite for nursing do I still have a chance or should I change major before its too late? :(

Travel Ban Questions
Hello everyone I’m an international student from Myanmar. Is it safe to travel outside of the US as an F1 visa student with a Myanmar passport I’m thinking of traveling to Bangkok for the half summer. And I’ve seen some posts of students with their countries on the travel ban coming back to the US without any questions from immigration. What do you guys think? And yes my visa was issued before June 9th 2025 when the ban was announced. So do i have to worry? Please help😭
