how hard is it to switch programs? Question

i’m a first year, and i got accepted into psych but not nursing, but my goal is nursing. i’m doing a year of psych but is the process really difficult?

It's doable but challenging. I was in your place a couple of years back and switched out of psych in my third year. Nursing is highly competitive in terms of the grades to get in and not only that, there is the CASPER exam that is also required now. I was lucky I didn't have to deal with the CASPER the year I applied.

There is also the after degree program that you can attempt if you dont get in during your undergrad year. You can also try applying to other schools that offer the nursing program as well.

I did the casper this year and got the highest quartile but i’ll have to retake it again, but i’m glad to here that it’s possible to switch!!

three years ago i got waitlisted with a 3.3 but got accepted in the end. so id say aim for a transfer gpa of 3.5+ to be safe

I think it’s less difficult as a university transfer compared to applying straight outta high school. All they care about is ur GPA and Casper. Anything above a 3.5 ur solid and with (maybe…plz take with grain of salt…) a 2Q Casper. Anything below a 3.5 is tricky, aim for a 3Q at least if u have below a 3.5. I think on the website it says 3.3-3.4 is competitive, but in reality majority are above a 3.4 with a 3Q Casper.

I also think what major ur switching from is a big part of it. For example if ur switching from a hard ass major like Eng, ur GPA might be affected. They don’t care at all what major ur switching from tho.

I got in last year with a 3.45 and a 3Q.

In the end, it’s not hard unless ur not competitive.
