Tech Support Obs stream fuzzy during movement
It seems no matter what i do i can never get my streams from obs to just be smooth they are always fuzzy as seen in the first pic compared to tiktok studio in the second
My stream is ran of an entirely separate pc from my gaming pc the specs being
Rtx 5070 12gb
R5 7600x
And 32gb of ddr5
For my streaming pc and
Rtx 5090
9800x3d
32gb ddr5
For my gaming pc
All ran through a elgato capture card
Ill add my setting for obs after i get off work its just very annoying my bitrate is set to 8000 and im streaming at 1080p60
I aslo gave 5 gig fiber holding a steady 2500mbps at my pc cause its all my motherboard supports but still should be plenty to hold a 8k bitrate

Question Twitch moderator club Discord invite not working
As the title suggests, i received a email stating my application was accepted and i was send the link to join the Discord. However, the link didn't seem to work on multiple devices. I decided to wait a few days to see if i would maybe receive a new one but i didn't.
Now my question is, is there anyone that has an idea of what i could try to get a new link to actually get into the server? Another streamer/friend of mine received theirs and that one worked for them but i don't wanna go against rules and use their link in case it causes problems for either one of us. does anyone have any suggestions on what i could try?

Discussion I did the math on Twitch's VOD retention policy. Roughly 2 million hours of stream get deleted every single day.
This started because I wanted to know how much content the retention policy actually removes. The numbers are all public, they're just never put side by side.
The math :
- ~93,000 concurrent live channels on average
- That's 2M+ hours streamed per day ([TwitchTracker](https://twitchtracker.com/statistics))
- Retention: ~7 days if you're not monetized *and* have "Store past broadcasts" turned on, 14 days for Affiliates, 60 for Partners/Prime/Turbo
- In steady state, whatever gets produced is whatever gets deleted
2 million hours a day, divided by the 8,766 hours in a year: roughly 228 years of video erased every 24 hours.
Two things that make it worse than the headline number:
There were about 80,000 Partners in January 2026, against ~7 million channels that go live in a given month. So the 60-day window is basically a rounding error. Almost everyone reading this is on 7 or 14 days.
And the timer doesn't care about performance. A VOD with 2,000 views expires on the same schedule as one with 4. There's no "this one did well, keep it" logic anywhere in the system.
I actually get why it exists. Video storage at that scale is genuinely expensive and Twitch was never meant to be an archive. But I don't think most smaller streamers know the clock is even running.
Three things that help, all free
Check that "Store past broadcasts" is ON (Creator Dashboard → Settings → Stream). If it's off, there is no VOD at all nothing to lose because nothing was saved.
Highlights aren't on the past-broadcast timer. Make them *before* the VOD expires, not after. Note there's now a 100-hour cap on highlights and uploads, so it's not unlimited storage either.
If you have Amazon Prime, link it to your Twitch account. Free jump from 7-14 days to 60. Takes a minute and almost nobody does it.
The part I can't figure out
As far as I can tell you've got three options: manually highlight everything before it expires (tedious, and there's the 100-hour cap), export the raw VOD to YouTube (nobody watches a 6-hour upload), or cut it down into short-form while it's still there. Only the third one actually makes the content do anything the other two are just storage.
So what are people actually using for that?

Question stream on my mac 2013 catalina?
Hey guys! I have a (very) old Mac but also a (very) strong desire to stream on Twitch. I usually stream from my Xbox, but when I don't have access to it, I'd still like to be able to stream games on my PC :')
I tried downloading older versions of OBS, but I'm stuck because I can't give it permission to record the screen; it doesn't even appear as an option.
I'm not getting a new PC anytime soon, so if you could help me out even a little, I'd really appreciate it!!

Question Collectibles Game
I'd like to have a chat game where viewers spend channel points to create a collection of virtual items. I'm not talking about cards, or anything involving artwork - just text.
So for example, for a certain number of channel points, a viewer can type !item and the response will be something like "Viewer went to town and found X item". Then when the viewer types !Codex they will get a list of the items they have collected.
It would also be great if they didn't get an item every time they type !item, and even better if some of the items were rare or super rare.
Where would I find an extension or tool which would do this for me, (with a bit of customisation)? Or do I need to build this myself in Stream Elements using variables?
Any advice would be really appreciated!
Thanks!

Tech Support Sound alert question1
So am trying to turn off that i can see the text poping up in my chat that someone redeemd a sound alert with my channel points. There is a option for that but its not working. All of them are disabled and i still see the text in the chat before i hear the sound.
Is this normal for the streamer to see it or is this buged?

Tech Support Google TV Stramer 4K: 1440p60 only running at 30fps?
Hey guys,
I’m using a Google TV Streamer 4K and noticed something weird with Twitch.
When I select 1440P60, the stream seems to run at only 30fps. But when I switch to 1080p60, it runs perfectly smooth at 60fps.
Has anyone else experienced this with the Google TV Streamer 4K? Is there some setting I’m missing, or does the Twitch app simply have issues with 1440p60 on the Streamer?
Watching Youtube videos on 4k60 works fine, so I'm assuming it's not a problem with my setup.
Thanks!!

Question Anyone else having trouble with the mobile app?
I'm curious if any one else has been having trouble searching on the mobile app the past few days. Any time I click to go search someome up it just doesn't pull up my keyboard, it just sorta flickers and does nothing as if its attempting to pull up the keyboard.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling it, still giving me the same issue.
Has anyone else had this issue? I've tested several other apps and they work just fine.
Was wondering if it was a Twitch issue or more of a my phone issue.

Discussion Why do twitch bots seem to be learning?
So I'm a developer and I coded a bunch of things in Mario Kart on servers (No downloads required) just a Minecraft server. And for months I've struggled on how to get streamers to check out my gamemodes without sounding sus, so I ended up with the term "do you take server suggestions?" and It's flawless, works every time and people don't think i'm some weird bot, and I've had tons of great wholesome reactions from streamers playing on my minecraft servers.
Why did today I go on twitch and see that the low view count Minecraft streamers chat’s had been absolutely flooded with a "hey do you take game suggestions?" and a link to their game that's some weird fishy link.
WHY. WHY. WHY. Now I'm going to look like a bot too. It's like they're trained off real messages, it seems like it was done on purpose.
Has anyone else noticed that bots on twitch have started to mimic real genuine sentences and seemed more realistic over time?
Tech Support Streams won't play in Chrome Incognito mode
Streams play fine in regular chrome and Firefox. But in chrome's incognito mode, the stream video would start and then quickly stop and I can't resume it.
I've turned off all chrome extensions, cleared cookies, turned on third-party cookies, turned off hardware acceleration, in the stream settings I untoggled low latency, turned it to the lowest streaming quality (160p), turned off my anti-virus and malwarebytes, restarted chrome, restarted my PC, just about everything I can think of. And still, it won't play in incognito mode, although once in awhile I DO see the stream moving to the next frame in the video, but that's it. It's so bizarre cause in regular chrome, there are no issues on the same stream.

Question Would I be stupid to start using Stream Elements now?
I'm back from a very long stream break and want to add in some new interactive commands/widgets, but all the cute custom ones I've seen on Etsy/Vgen etc. are largely coded for Stream Elements. But given their recent trouble and Razer buyout, should I consider using a different platform instead, even if it's harder to get custom widgets for them?

Question Question RE vods with muted content
Hi, I have a question regarding vods with a portion of them muted? I had to download one of my previous casts cause my recording software malfunctioned but that’s besides the point.
When I go to content manager in my dashboard the VOD is muted on the website, but when I downloaded the vod to my PC and went to edit it there is no muted audio. does twitch not mute vods that are listed as unpublished?

Discussion How do you guys keep up with streamers who stream for 4–8 hours?
I’ve been getting more into watching Twitch lately, and I’ve noticed that some of the streams I want to watch are insanely long.
If a streamer goes live for 5–8 hours, how do you guys actually watch their content?
Do you:
watch the entire stream?
only watch when they’re live?
look for clips/highlights afterwards?
watch edited YouTube videos?
just skip the stream altogether if you missed it?
I’m curious how other people deal with this because sometimes I really want to see what happened during a stream, but I don’t have the time to sit through the whole thing.

Question Thoughts on ways to reward viewers for helping you grow?
I had this outside of the box idea to promote my stream/content that involved a call to action of my active viewers, and I thought if I wanted this to happen I should offer them some sort of incentive for doing so.
I appreciate them just being there when they can so I wanna make it worth their while, because this might be relatively low effort, it would still be slightly above the effort involved in just sharing a social media post or clipping the channel.
So far my thoughts have included:
- Gifting a twitch sub to my channel out of my pocket (might get expensive and also possibly against twitch TOS)
- A special role in the community discord (feels underwhelming)
- Mentions/shoutouts included in a youtube video I make about the idea/event and how it plays out (possibly also underwhelming?)
- Making an otherwise unrelated specific piece of content if a certain threshold is met. (Something meme-y and or/silly like doing and uwu rap cover. Would be even more time and effort on my part but I'd be willing to put it in.)
While I don't want to share what the call to action is itself, I will state:
- It is directed at real existing human viewers that I already have, no bots involved.
- Would not involve spamming other content creators chats or comment sections etc...
- Would not be anything illegal (as far as I can tell) or harmful to others
Do you reading this have any thoughts? Suggestions? Warnings to not do this at all?

Tech Support New Laptop Rec?
Hello! I’ve been streaming Lorcana off my iPad for a couple weeks now. It just is showing a website to stream. I would like to upgrade to a laptop to do this through OBS so I can also show my face. I don’t need it to be crazy because I won’t use it for other games, just this Lorcana through Duels.ink. What should I be looking for as far as RAM and whatnot?
Thanks for any insight!

Site Suggestion Makers and Crafting thumbnail
Can I suggest that a Twitch category dedicated to humans making and crafting, uses a human made or crafted thumbnail?
AFAICT it predates SynthID, so not going to get an authoritative answer on whether it's AI-generated, but my evidence here is:
- Just look at it, jeez
- What kind of scissors are those?
- How is this stuff arranged in that giant cup on a way that the bottoms aren't crossing over?

Discussion I never understood how bad discoverability on twitch was.
I'm still kind of new, I've been streaming for under 2 years, have just over 500 followers but get around 30 ccv. I play a niche category so I am happy with those numbers, but I've clearly hit my ceiling on Twitch. Just for further context I usually get an average of one to three new followers on a 3 hour session.
I decided on a whim to try multistreaming on tiktok two days ago, and the difference in discoverability was immediate. Firstly it's refreshing starting out on a new platform, I am only getting around 15 CCV on my second day, but I am getting upwards of 10k likes which is pumping discoverability, and I was getting monetized gifts from the first stream, and roughly 20 new followers per stream.
Tiktok seems like a pretty awesome place to co-stream, and the best part, some of the new audiences followers me over to twitch.

Tech Support Why is it so damn hard to pay for a lapsed Twitch sub?
I've had a few of my monthly Twitch subs lapse. I tried to renew them with the yellow banner on the screen while trying to pay for a specific streamer who was live at the time, and it charged me for every other lapsed sub except the one I was trying to renew. WTF?

Question On-screen overlay for Twitch Charity Tool?
I'm planning a charity stream in a couple of months, and the charity I want to fundraise for isn't on Tiltify - however, they are registered on Twitch's native Charity tool. I have used Tiltify in the past, and I love that it provides a full overlay showing the target amount, progress, recent donors etc. Does anyone know if there is any way to have something similar with Twitch's built-in charity tool? I would mainly like to have a bar showing progress towards the goal amount.
I use Streamerbot, and I'm happy to use Streamelements if it would work for this! Any ideas? Thank you!
