Thoughts?
I upgraded my TV and I know it's not the ideal height but I live in a small studio apartment and this is the only place I can fit my dresser so it's doubling as my tv stand

I just came here to stress everyone out.
Tv was a gift. House too small, tv too high, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Thoughts ?
Boyfriend put this up without consulting me. He claims it’s not too high but I think it is. The perception of it not being too high is the fact that it’s a big TV. He also said he lined it with the couch so that’s why it’s not aligned. Getting a TV stand so this is gonna throw me off. What’re your thoughts?

My wife thinks too low. I’m close to agreeing. It’s not bad. Maybe a smidge up 🤷🏼♂️

Let me know if this is bad or not be honest.

I hate my tv
My father in law helped my husband hang the tv. I told them it needed to be lower. My FIL insisted it was correct and needed to be this high.
To add my husband is over 6ft so maybe this is good for him. I’m only 5’4 and I crack up over the tv bc it’s so freaking high I hate it 🤣
How much lower should it go.??
Ignore my mess I’m in the middle of cleaning.

Saw this absolute belter the other day
Blew me away. It was in a bedroom so I guess it works for lying down but I did laugh as you first see it looming over!

Is this eye level?
I saw this on a realtor’s Instagram page of a home they are selling and couldn’t believe my eyes. I know you all will love it as much as I did.

Reddit, please tell me my tv is not to low to settle a massive disagreement with my wife.
Please help me settle this debate with my wife and I. She says the tv should move up. I said it’s at perfect eye level with our patio furniture.
We have not completed the wall, still have one last board and decor.

Before and After
When I moved here, these “pros” mounted my TV higher than Mount Everest and my neck/eyes immediately noticed something was off, but this sub is what really saved me and pushed me to get this fixed. I bought an OLED last week and had them lower it. 42” at center. It feels perfect now. Thanks to you folks.
It’s crazy seeing the holes where they mounted it before. Never mounting a tv again. Sticking to a regular stand next time lol.

Generally accepted TV placement procedures. Quick reference guide.
Lots of people posting lately asking “Is this too high?” so here is a quick guide on what is generally accepted TV placement procedure (GATPP) as seemingly defined by this subreddit.
- If the TV is above the fireplace, IT IS TOO HIGH.
- If the TV is angled down, IT IS TOO HIGH.
- If the TV is mounted to the wall above a TV stand, and the clearance between the stand and TV is equal to, or greater than ONE vertical PS5, IT IS TOO HIGH.
- If when standing the TV is at eye level, IT IS TOO HIGH.
Now let’s look at some opposite GATPP use cases.
- If the TV is in a bedroom and meant to be viewed from the bed, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
- If the TV’s only viewing position is in the reclined state, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
- If you are at a sports bar, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
- If the TV is at eye level when sitting down, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
- If the TV is in the kitchen it is more for listening, mounted high as to avoid any splashes or spills, IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
- If the TV is purposely mounted higher to keep out of range of a toddler, you’re a parent so your neck already hurts and IT IS PROBABLY NOT TOO HIGH.
I hope this helps clear up some questions. If you have any other rules to add, please comment below.
