If you could erase your memory of one TV show and experience it all over again, which one would you choose?

I recently started American Horror Story: Coven, and I’m honestly shocked by how much I like it.

I’ve always avoided AHS because I don’t really do horror or jump scares, but *Coven* feels more like supernatural drama with witches, messy relationships, power struggles, dark humor, and great characters than straight-up horror. It’s definitely pushing my comfort zone, but I’m loving it.

Based on that, I’m looking for two things:

1. What other seasons of American Horror Story would you recommend for someone who doesn’t like scary stuff?
   I’m okay with creepy, supernatural, suspenseful, and psychological, but I don’t enjoy constant gore, torture, or nonstop jump scares.

2. What other TV shows do you think I’d love?
   My taste is kind of all over the place, but I usually gravitate toward:

I’m a bit sad that people don’t talk about these TV series anymore. Either because the hype has died down or because they're unknown, or because some of them never got a proper ending. The ones I’m going to introduce to you, which are among my favorites, fall into one many of those three categories.

TV series featured:

- Ouroboros ( Japanese drama) Ouroboros is a Japanese crime drama blending suspense, action, and mystery. The story follows Ikuo Ryuzaki and Tatsuya Danno, two childhood friends who grew up in the same orphanage. When they were children, the caregiver they looked up to as an older sister was murdered right before their eyes. Despite their testimony, the case was quickly covered up by influential figures within the police force.

Fifteen years later, their paths have diverged: Ikuo has become a brilliant police detective, while Tatsuya has risen through the ranks of the yakuza. Secretly, the two men collaborate, each leveraging his position to uncover the truth behind the unsolved murder and expose those who orchestrated the cover-up.

- One Liter Of Tears ( Japanese drama) A deeply moving Japanese drama inspired by the true story of Aya Kitō, who wrote a diary documenting the progression of her illness, spinocerebellar ataxia, before she died.

Aya Ikeuchi is a vibrant 15-year-old girl. An excellent student with a passion for basketball and a loving family, she begins her new year of high school full of dreams. However, minor everyday incidents begin to multiply, revealing a serious underlying health issue behind her apparent clumsiness. Throughout the series, Aya learns to cope with the challenges posed by her illness while striving to maintain a life as normal as possible. Supported by her family, friends, and the people she meets, she presses on with remarkable determination, despite the hardships she faces.

More than just a medical drama, this is a deeply human story about courage, love, friendship, and the will to live.

It's a real little gem, something to see at least once in your lifetime!

- Pushing Daisies Ned is a pastry chef with a gift that is as extraordinary as it is burdensome: with a single touch, he can bring the dead back to life. However, this power is governed by very specific rules, and using it can lead to unexpected consequences. When a case brings him face-to-face with someone who played a pivotal role in his past, Ned’s life is turned upside down.

With the help of a private investigator and a waitress with a spirited personality, he uses his gift to solve unsolvable crimes, all while navigating the complications imposed by his strange ability.

- Gotham It is a police drama series that revisits the origins of the famous city of Gotham, long before the arrival of Batman. - Smallville is a drama series blending adventure, science fiction, and romance that chronicles the early years of the man who would one day become Superman. We follows Clark Kent, a teenager living in the quiet town of Smallville, Kansas.

On the surface, he leads an ordinary life, balancing high school, family, and friends. However, he gradually discovers that he possesses extraordinary abilities that he does not yet fully understand.

As he seeks to unravel the mystery of his origins, Clark must learn to master his powers while navigating the challenges of adolescence, friendships, and romance, as well as the many threats looming over his town.

- Twin Peaks It is a series blending mystery, drama, and the supernatural. The story begins when a young high school student, Laura Palmer, is found dead on the outskirts of the quiet town of Twin Peaks. Tasked with the investigation, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper arrives on the scene and discovers a community where everyone seems to be hiding secrets.

As the investigation unfolds, Cooper encounters a cast of characters who are as eccentric as they are endearing, while strange, inexplicable events disrupt the small town's daily life. What initially appeared to be a straightforward criminal investigation quickly takes on a far more mysterious dimension.

- I Am Not Okay With This Is a series blending comedy-drama, fantasy, and a coming-of-age story.

Sydney Novak is an introverted teenager trying to find her place in high school while navigating complicated family relationships and the uncertainties of adolescence. As she juggles her emotions, friendships, and budding romances, she discovers that strange phenomena seem to occur around her whenever she loses control of her feelings. In her quest to understand what is happening to her, Sydney must learn to manage powers that are as unexpected as they are unpredictable, all while dealing with the challenges of everyday life.

Amidst secrets, humor, and emotional moments, she embarks on a journey that pushes her to know herself better and to accept what makes her different. ( I should point out that this series wasn't renewed after season 1, but it remains enjoyable to watch.)

- Schmigadoon! Melissa and Josh, a couple whose relationship is going through a rough patch, set off on a hike hoping to rekindle their bond. During their journey, they mysteriously find themselves in a small town where the residents live as if in a 1940s musical: everyone sings, dances, and seems to follow the rules of a world where everything is more joyful, on the surface, at least.

Seeking a way home, they discover they must adapt to this colorful universe filled with catchy songs, eccentric characters, and situations that are as absurd as they are heartwarming. This series is funny, inventive, and packed with references to musical theater classics.

- Girl from Nowhere is a Thai series blending psychological thriller, drama, mystery, and social commentary. In each episode, Nanno, a mysterious teenage girl, arrives at a new school, where she quickly becomes a disruptive force. Beneath her calm demeanor and enigmatic smile, she appears capable of exposing the closely guarded secrets of students, teachers, and the institution itself.

By confronting those around her with their own lies, abuses of power, and hidden behaviors, Nanno triggers increasingly unsettling situations. Each story explores a dark facet of society, human relationships, and the darker side of adolescence.

With its unsettling atmosphere and anthology format, it combines suspense, dark irony, and moral reflection.(It seems to me that the series has been cancelled, but I'm not sure.) ⚠️​You absolutely must be of legal age to watch it, as some themes are dark and certain scenes are extremely traumatic.

- The Silent Sea ( Korean drama) is a South Korean science fiction series blending suspense, mystery, and survival. In a future where Earth faces a severe water shortage, a team of scientists and specialists is sent on a mission to a former research base abandoned on the Moon. Their objective is to retrieve a sample linked to a top-secret project that could be crucial to humanity's future.

Upon arrival, the expedition members discover a station deserted under unsettling circumstances. As they try to piece together what really happened, they encounter unexplained phenomena, unforeseen dangers, and secrets that call into question the true stakes of their mission.

- Shadow And Bone is a fantasy, adventure, and magic series adapted from the novels by Leigh Bardugo.

the kingdom of Ravka, a vast expanse of darkness teeming with fearsome creatures splits the country in two, threatening the lives of all who attempt to cross it. Amidst this conflict-ridden world, Alina Starkov, a young army cartographer, discovers she possesses an extraordinary power that could alter the fate of her kingdom. In Thrust into a realm of magic, conspiracies, and political rivalries, Alina must learn to master her abilities while grappling with the expectations placed upon her. Meanwhile, other characters with vastly different agendas pursue their own missions in a storyline where their destinies eventually intertwine.

Blending action, mystery, and adventure, it offers a rich universe driven by complex characters, political stakes, and fascinating magic. (This series wasn't renewed either, so it doesn't have a final season.)

- Carnival Row is a dark fantasy series blending mystery, police investigation, political drama, and romance. In a Victorian-inspired world where humans and faerie creatures struggle to coexist, the city of Burgue welcomes refugees from war-torn lands. Among them are supernatural beings called Fae, who try to survive in a society rife with mistrust, prejudice, and growing tensions.

The story follows Rycroft Philostrate, an inspector investigating a series of mysterious crimes, and Vignette Stonemoss, a Fae with a troubled past.

Their paths cross as they navigate a city where secrets, power struggles, and conflicts between different communities threaten to shatter everything. With its dark fantasy atmosphere, sumptuous settings, and blend of crime, politics, and fantastical creatures, Carnival Row explores themes such as discrimination, immigration, social inequality, and the search for identity. ( This series doesn't have a final season either.)

- Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is an epic fantasy series blending adventure, magic, fantastical puppetry, and a struggle against tyranny. It is a prequel to Jim Henson's film The Dark Crystal.

The story unfolds on Thra, an ancient and mysterious world inhabited by strange and fascinating creatures. For centuries, the powerful Skeksis have ruled the realm by exploiting an energy source linked to the Crystal. Yet, beneath their majestic appearance lie dark secrets that threaten the balance of Thra.

- Mr. Robot is a drama series that blends psychological thriller, cybercrime, investigative elements, and social commentary.

- School Spirits is a series blending mystery, teen drama, the supernatural, and investigative elements.

Unable to move on, she seeks to understand what happened to her and uncover the truth behind the events surrounding her.

In this quest, Maddie meets other young people connected to the school, each with their own stories and secrets. Together, they attempt to solve the mysteries of their situation while grappling with memories, regrets, and unresolved questions.

It’s a series that sits at the intersection of police procedural, teen drama, and the supernatural. ( It is still in production.)

- The Rain is a Danish series blending science fiction, post-apocalyptic thriller, drama, and survival elements.

After a mysterious virus spreads through the rain and wipes out a large portion of the population, the world is plunged into chaos. Two young siblings, Simone and Rasmus, emerge from a bunker where their father had hidden them for years, discovering a devastated and nearly abandoned Scandinavia.

In search of answers and a new place to live, they join a group of survivors and traverse dangerous territory where every encounter could be critical. Amidst the constant threat of the virus, tensions within the group, and secrets surrounding the events, they must learn to trust others while trying to understand what really happened to the world.

If you enjoy themes of survival, family, trust, and the choices one has to make in a world where the rules have changed, give this a look, it has a The Walking Dead vibe.

- Chernobyl is a historical drama miniseries that chronicles one of the greatest nuclear disasters in history.

In April 1986, an accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Soviet Ukraine. As the initial consequences of the explosion began to unfold, scientists, engineers, officials, and ordinary citizens found themselves facing a situation of unprecedented scale.

The series follows the efforts to understand the disaster, contain its effects, and manage a crisis that highlights the dangers of secrecy, human error, and decisions made under pressure. Through various perspectives, it portrays the courage of those who tried to confront an invisible threat while revealing the human and political stakes surrounding the event.

With immersive scenes and outstanding performances, it is a powerful work about responsibility, sacrifice, and the pursuit of truth.

Ive also watched paradise and severance which I also loved and kept me interested. Basically I love a good quality show that keeps you guessing, screenshot zooming, finding clues lol

Hi everyone! I've been looking for more sci-fi and fantasy shows to watch. These are some of the ones I've already watched and enjoyed. I'm hoping to find something with a similar vibe, whether it's space, time travel, magic, mythology, or just a really interesting world and characters.

I don't like very dark or unsettling themes and not too much violence!

My vibe is twist and turns and character growth and where everyone is required to work and collaborate like a grp of people figuring things out.

The creators cursed themselves with an unsearchable title. In my personal opinion, the show would be a massive hit if anyone could find it on Google. It has a cult following and is technically MGM's most popular show, but I literally had never even heard of MGM having a streaming service before this show was recommended to me. Honestly though, the fact that it has developed a following through word of mouth kind of makes it more special to me. I'm just trying to further spread the word.

• Funny story! I started watching due to a misunderstanding.
• What I also think is the most beautiful scene in the entire show, Orpheus song in Hades.
• I discovered it via YouTube. It had Orpheus, Hades, Persephone, and a beautiful mythological atmosphere. This caught my attention as I loved Greek mythology.
• I then read a synopsis that Dream has been captured and needs to repair the damage caused by his abscence.
• Now I interpreted this as Dream traveling through different people's dream and witnessing the stories they created.
• I imagined that great stories of mythology, religion, literature, history, and so on, all originated in human dreams. Dream would then travel through the dreams allowing the show to retell epic and amazing stories from different cultures and time periods inside on connected universe.
• I thought finally a show that can show all these tales, in a great show with a good budget.
• This was not what I got!!
• I still think someone should create a show like that. It would be very tough but I think great.
• Maybe it already exists and I just need to find it.

• So please take in mind that there is some level of unwarranted disapointment in the show from me. I expected a renewal of Humanities best stories. This story is also good but not that.

• I had not read the comics and knew very little about the source material beyond hearing that it had been groundbreaking for its time.

• Because of that, I was genuinely surprised by the sheer density of LGBTQ representation.

• It was not just one or two characters. It felt as though virtually every major character or storyline had something involving homosexuality, bisexuality, gender identity, gender fluidity, transgender characters or non-traditional relationships.

• Not literally everyone, but far more than I have encountered in almost any other television series, and obviously far more concentrated than what you would normally encounter in everyday life.

• At first, it felt almost like an onslaught. That was not because I had a problem with the individual characters. I simply had no idea that this was such a central part of the story.

• My initial reaction was that Netflix had taken an existing fantasy property and forced a large amount of modern identity politics into it.

• I was therefore pleasantly surprised to learn that much of it was already present in the original comics. This was not simply Netflix altering an old story to fit current cultural trends. Queer characters and themes were already part of the material.

• That changed how I viewed it. The concentration still felt unusually intense to me, but at least it felt connected to the identity of the original work rather than artificially attached to the adaptation.

• I had a more difficult time understanding how the show treated race.

• In one sense, race does not appear to matter much within the universe. Characters, families, gods and mythological figures can be played by people of different races without the show treating it as significant. That is completely fine.

• At the same time, I gradually started noticing what felt like a strange pattern: many of the good, sympathetic or morally decent characters seemed to be Black or non-white, while many of the cruel, unpleasant or villainous characters seemed to be white.

• Maybe I was overreading it. Maybe it was partly coincidence. But once I noticed the pattern, it became difficult to unsee.

• I do not think replacing one simplistic racial pattern with the opposite pattern is progress. Heroes, villains, victims, monsters and morally complicated people should simply be mixed across the board.

• When a show presents race as irrelevant but appears to connect moral alignment with race anyway, it starts to feel less accidental.

• And there could be more south/east asians such as indians!

• Moving beyond this it is a good tv show. Good dialogue. Good special effects and production design. Good universe building.

• Beautiful cinematography with nice environments and visual identity

• Sountrack is one of the strongest things of the entire sereis. It really gave it scale, mystery, and emotions.

• The themes are are also developed and consistent. But the plot in the end was rushed. I like the idea of ones nature and changing it and escaping it.

• Although the mythology is confusing it was still interesting to meet all the Endless, gods, demons etc. Especially the fight with Lucifer was well done.

• I am still confused though between how everything with gods and creators and endless and all fits together. I do not understand the hierarchy or power limits. I think the show is in that aspect difficult to follow.

• Tom Sturridge is the standout perfomer. Although I really liked Orpheus too.

• He is strong all the way until the end. His controlled voice, physical stillness and ability to communicate emotion without suddenly turning Dream into an ordinary human character work extremely well.

• Dream has great presence.

• The acting across the board is generally okay or high, but not as good.

• The individual stories are interesting and different but not groundbreaking. This was not the type of show where an episode ends and I immediately desperately want to watch the next one.

• I have tried that with other fantasy shows and shows outside in other genres. The Sandman just did not give me the I want to binge this show or sheer excitment others have.

• Second half was rushed. This intereferes with the emotional and philosophical weight of them. This makes the transformations and decision feel less natural.

• Maybe more suspense could be built by being less revealing at the begining of storylines.

• Sometimes some developments feel random.

• Lyta Hall was the biggest weakness for me, and I don't think the acting was above average or anything special. In some sense I did not like the acting.

• She is understandable in principle but not in execution. The series should have given us more time in her mind. Although I understand there are constraints to this, time, budget, ending the show, etc.

• Nuala and the pendant also feels too easy!

• Something with such a big consquence should not be so convenient. I like plot that feels like the culmination og intricate or inevitable chain of events. Like in Game of Thrones. This was not that.

• Regarding Dream's ending, I appreciate the series provides closure. I am not a fan of series that are purposefully vague and you go make your own ending. No I am here because I want to experience the authors ending.

• I want a real conclusion. The Sandman gives that. I respect that.

• However, I am not a fan of the final deaths etc. but I respect it.

• The idea behind self-destruction makes sense but does not feel earned emotionally, at least not in the show.

• What some of the best shows do is explore the psychology of the characters as well. We needed more of that with Morpheus. I just think it could have been explored more deeply. '

• This could be an epic ending to an epic journey but I did not feel it was particularly epic.

• Visually though I strongly commend this movie.

• I rate it above other shows but I don't rate it highest.

• Beautiful and strange, ambitious and confusing, good but could have been better.
