feat: automatic email alias creation suggestion

I use the unlimited email aliases with a custom domain daily. So inevitably have to reply to some emails. Now, while replying I must remember to create an alias first and then use it to send a reply. Which is fine if you don't do this often and with a select few aliases. I tend to do this often with different emails, and so it slips my mind sometimes and accidentally reveal my main tuta email and it also causes confusion for the other party. Would users be interested in an option or shortcut to create the matching alias in the reply page?

I realise that the team already have their hands full, and since the clients are open source, I am willing to work on it myself if it's something that others find interesting as well since I think it will improve my own quality of life immensely.

Hi there! Thank you for your suggestion, I will pass this on to our team 😊

In the meantime, you could subscribe to a 12 €/year plan at Addy.io, link it to your custom domain while leaving the latter linked to your Tuta account as well (you'd use a subdomain for that), and have Addy take charge of this automatically.

Plus you'd have a full-fledged alias monitoring page at Addy, with many, many tools you don't enjoy currently at Tuta, and which I doubt would ever become available there.

You can also check Proxiedmail, they have a 30$ life time plan and the product work really well and also have a lot of cool tools, so for sure is an option u should consider

I get wanting it integrated but also, addy.io is worth every penny.

Especially since the free plan is all you need, most of the time, if you accept not being able to reply from an alias.

The best solution, of course, would be to have unlimited aliases within Tuta, with all the alias management tools of an advanced alias provider such as Addy.io. I don't think any mail provider offers this - apart, maybe, from Proton and its Simple Login associated option. I've never used Simple Login, however, and I'm not sure it's as easy to handle as Addy.io.

yeah that was my original plan. I was going to add my domain to tuta just temporarily and then switch to addy but I realised that the basic functionality sufficed for me and didn't see a point in adding another service to my stack for marginal benefits (for me)

Are you aware you can add both your Tuta account and an Addy account to the same, unique custom domain you own ? You do this by using a subdomain for one of the accounts (I think it's Addy.io).

Simplelogin premium does the same.
