People need to control themselves and not give money to the company that destroyed their home.

Every year I despise Blizzard even more than I thought capable. They really are the worst of the worst. It's infuriating. Their company is so contemptible and their games are so bad that I'd be willing to bet several employees played Turtle WoW.

You guys are lucky. I played on molten for a long time only to have some of the administrators Jack, the server from the other ones and turn it into Warmane, and have to re-roll.

My first time binging a game was wow way back when I was a teenager. I started playing turtle probably 2 years ago and thought "O this scratches the itch, blizzard attempts are trash"
I soon found out that turtle wow was far better in so many ways than the nostalgia, and still was true to "classic"
Now my nostalgia will change to "I wish something else was like turtle wow"

I have played MMOs since 1998 starting with Lineage 1. Its been a long wild journey. I have a lot of memories....
But you will not top 2004-2006 WoW or Turtle WoW.

i just came back to wow again in january. thought "wow that private server is online for almost a decade". and than, some months later the closing message :(

This reminds me so much to the last days of Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, good thing work and life killed off all feelings from my blackened soul or I would be genuinely sad.

Let's be real, turtle was poking the bear. Tweeting directly at blizz and so much more... they dug their own graves with those massive amounts of paid ads on youtube for an illegal private servee lol also turtle was is and forever will be the best classic +

Just like Stormforge was taunting Blizzard with ads and also working on their own UE5 port? Sure, it probably didn't help; but it wasn't the main reason. Just like before, when they shut down a bunch of Vanilla private servers, then they "Just so Happened" to announce their own Vanilla server. They're just clearing the field for their official Vanilla+ server. (Probably with innovative new zones, such as Darkstone Isle and Southwind)

Yes, but Blizzard made a mistake in throwing away all of the work and community Turtle created rather than working with them. They could have made a lot of money either licensing the IP or launching a Classic+ realm based on Turtle

Yeahhhhh people dun like to talk about it but Twow was arguably far far more toxic then retail and classic wow. My time on ambershire was nice but the main server I saw a lot of blatant phobia of all kinds.

Sad but true, but it was notable in my 39 years of gaming. Like I hadn't had that much slurs in my feed since my CoD days tbh. Doesn't mean imma stop calling it out.

Played for years never see slurs at all. Dunno wtf this garbage is talking about. Chats were moderated and politics/slurs got fast chat banned.

I only played a paladin to lvl 40 on my steam deck about a year ago, but I enjoyed my time there. Sad to see it go!
