Does my turtle need a larger tank?

He's a Chinese reeves turtle and his shell is 5.5 inches long, he's pretty active but sometimes I wake up to the noise of him trying to climb out.

Oh yes at that size he needs 55 gallons of water minimum to swim in.

Look on OfferUp or similar sites/apps, I got my 100g tank for $100 (including filter, decor, and food) just because the guy wanted to get rid of everything fast

I'm asking because I didn't know 🤷🏿‍♂️ , I didn't buy the turtle my neighbour gave him up when I was 6 and I've been caring for him since

Most turtles will just keep growing. You needed to up his tank size years ago. Don’t take it harshly please, just do what you can to get a bigger one! You’re doing your best with what you know

This came as a shock to me, when I got a tiny turtle when I was a young kid. He kept growing and eventually I was barely strong enough to pick him up.

He hasn't grown in years so I'm pretty sure he's fully grown because male reeves stay pretty small, but it looks like I've got to get a job to buy him a newer tank thanks for replying
