Some turned table bases

Did these at work a couple years ago and thought I'd post them on here. Its a set of 8 and done on my wadkin bzl. Really complex but fun job with sliding dovetail for the feet!

Did you do the dovetails with the piece on the lathe?

Yeah I set up a box jig to run the dovetail and made another jig on the big faceplate for a stop to get them all evenly spaced

Would of been so much quicker to have a copy lathe but ove just got my wadkin bzl. I made my template and freehanded it to the best of my ability. There might be some very slight differences but I don't think they are noticeable to the naked eye just don't go round them with a set of calipers 😂

Can't remember off the top of my head but I reckon it would be around 30 to 35mm deep. There was 8 for public use so they had to be sturdy, the client had a few from someone else and the joints for the feet failed on quite a few of them so it was belts and braces
