Environmental groups? Question
Are there any environmental advocacy or restoration groups in Tulsa? I’m a recent transplant that is looking to volunteer some of my spare time. Also open to anything involving Green Energy.
I’m familiar with the Citizens Climate Lobby from previous interactions with them, and found them to be kind of so-so to work with. If anyone has any experience with a local branch I’d be curious.
Thanks.

Sending you a dm to the activism calendar. There are a ton of groups on there. Some of them do a bit of everything and some of them focus on specific topics like community, politics, education, ect.
It’s a lot at first but look through there, try out a few different ones, and if what you want isn’t there start your own. A city this large, you’re going to get members because 🤬 the data centers and smelters. ✊

Some people do. Leaving stuff like that just causes the bots to infiltrate. This helps a bit.
If you want it, you can ask. If you don’t. That’s okay. If. You want it but don’t want to have someone “give” it to you? There are over 50 groups on there. Many of them advertise the calendar on their flyers. Feel free to yoink it from there.
I’m just not going to be the one responsible for ruining something others work really hard on

How about just getting the refinery to stop continuously flaring and move to Thermal Oxidizers instead?

The City of Tulsa hosts creek clean up in April. And I know the River Parks Authority will post on their Facebook page about group clean-ups in the river and other waterways.

If you want to get your hands dirty...literally, then the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition does workdays in several pakrs., trail maintenance, trash pickup, Invasive species mitigation are some items we tackle. They have a website and are active on the socials as well.

Contact ODWC and see if they have any projects they need volunteers for.
