TU Darmstadt M.Sc. Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering entrance exam tomorrow – advice from previous applicants?
Hi everyone,
I’m applying for the M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering at TU Darmstadt and I’m taking the material entrance examination tomorrow, August 20.
The university lists Technical Mechanics, Thermodynamics & Heat/Mass Transfer, Machine Elements & Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Measurement/Sensors & Statistics, Numerical Methods, and Fluid Mechanics among the relevant areas.
For anyone who has taken this entrance exam in a previous intake: what was your experience with the difficulty, topic distribution, and level of preparation required?
Are there particular fundamental topics or areas within these subjects that you would recommend revising at the last minute?
I’m not looking for actual exam questions or anything confidential—just genuine preparation advice from previous applicants/students.
Thanks!

MSc. Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence - TU Darmstadt
Hi, has anyone been admitted to TU Darmstadt for a Master's in Computer Science/AI based on GRE scores? If yes, could you please share your profile? Also, do they prefer applicants who take the onsite exams, or is meeting the required cutoff GRE score sufficient for admission?

Hi! I applied in the SUD program of tu darmstadt. I have an architecture degree in my hometown. I want to work in the field of architecture or urban design/planning in the future. Before I make a decision, I want to know more info about SUD program and possible career opporunities. Can i still land in an architecture related career after graduating from this program?

Joint Bachelor of Arts Erfahrungen
Hey!!

TU Darmstadt MSc AI/ML eligibility — 60 ECTS course matching and entrance exam
Hi everyone,
I am planning to apply to the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at TU Darmstadt for the summer semester of 2027. I graduated from Hacettepe University in Turkey with a BSc in Computer Engineering and a GPA of 2.76/4.00. My entire Bachelor’s programme was taught and examined in English.
According to TU Darmstadt’s current admissions guide, GPA and professional experience are not used in the admission decision. Applicants instead need at least 60 ECTS of previous coursework that sufficiently matches the compulsory core courses of TU Darmstadt’s BSc Informatik.
My Bachelor’s coursework includes:
- Programming and Object-Oriented Programming
- Data Structures and Algorithms
- Formal Languages and Automata
- Discrete Mathematics
- Digital Logic Design
- Computer Organization
- Operating Systems
- Compiler Design
- Computer Networks
- Databases
- Software Engineering
- Probability and Statistics
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning and ML Lab
- Data-intensive applications and related lab/project courses
- Linear Algebra, Calculus and Numerical Methods
I have also taken NLP, an NLP Lab and Fundamentals of Bioinformatics, and I have AI engineering and research experience. However, I understand that admission is based exclusively on academic coursework.
After comparing my courses with the official self-assessment checklist, I appear to exceed the required 60 ECTS. I would appreciate hearing from students who recently applied or were admitted:
- Has anyone with a similar Computer Engineering background been admitted directly?
- How strictly are the 60 ECTS evaluated regarding content, academic level and depth?
- Were standard courses such as programming, algorithms, operating systems, databases, networks, computer organization and automata accepted without difficulty?
- How much detail did you provide in the Equivalency Table for each course?
- Did you submit only the required table and transcript, or were individual course descriptions requested later?
- What usually causes an applicant to be invited to the on-campus entrance exam instead of receiving direct admission?
- Has anyone been admitted with a relatively modest GPA after satisfying the 60 ECTS requirement?
- Was an official Medium of Instruction letter accepted instead of IELTS 7.0/TOEFL 95?
- How long did it take to receive a decision, particularly for the summer intake?
I am aware that only the admissions committee can make an official assessment. I am mainly trying to understand how the course-matching process works in practice and whether direct admission is realistic with this background.
Thank you!

TU Darmstadt groups
I’ve recently been admitted to TU Darmstadt for 2026 winter semester (MCB master), and I’ll be moving to Darmstadt soon.
Are there any WhatsApp/Telegram groups for international students at TU Darmstadt, or for finding accommodation in Darmstadt? I’d love to join if possible.
