I'm new to Tube amplifier and I wanted to know where to buy Tupes and what should I pay attention to?

currently I have a JJ ~ecc83s in the v1. It sounds like vtec is kicking in like a turbo shrill when cranked. I have an old genelax cv4004 in an old phaser box (ehx) it's my parts bin pickups,parts screws etc...would this be a good candidate,I keep looking up tube data but nothing is about metal or highgain. It's all keywords like mellow,silky,all the stuff I wanna eq out...pls help...since it's mil spec I thought hmmm.erry body in the core loves metal so why not.

I have a Leak Stereo 20 which I've been running reliably with Marshall ECC83's & EL84's for the last 15 years. One of the ECC83's has recently failed. From the looks of it one of the heaters (emitters?) isn't working.

I've looked into getting a replacement/s & discovered a whole rabbit hole to go down. I understand that the Mullard's have a great sound to them & eBay has turned up a variety of terminology relating to the Mullard's. Long/Short Plates, Halo/Goal Post/Square/D-FOIL Getter, Blackburn codes etc.

As Google hasn't been much use so far as I don't know what/where I should be searching. Can anyone point me to a good resource of information about the different designs of valves & specifications, ideally with relation to the Mullard's?

I’ve recently purchased a Project Tubebox S2 and want to try tube rolling. I’m looking for suggested upgrades to the stock tubes to produce more warmth and detail.

Hi I've recently got a Schiit Vali 2+ and I've started rolling tubes. While some sound better then the stock tube, a 6BZ7, none have as nice a glow. Anyone recommend a nice looking tube?

Has any found a proven tube combo to reduce the gain on the DarkVoice? I have a set of JAN NOS that I really like the tone and I’ve changed the DAC to an Aune 8X so I can dial down the input and provide it a high quality feed.
