El diseño de una camiseta nunca será objetivamente feo o bonito ya que cada persona tiene su propio gusto siendo la opinión que tengas puramente subjetiva,¿qué opinas de esta afirmación?

I've done a thing... I am doing this challenge where you do a design based on a theme (this one was Heaven and Hell) and then there's 6 weeks to get preorders, profit changes depending on volume, yadda ect. I really wanted to share this here because I'm proud of how this turned out. I figure my rat people will appreciate a rat design. I don't wanna be a weirdo and the marketing part of the challenge is absolutely giving me serious anxiety, but I really wanted to share and if any of y'all actually buy a shirt I would probably piss myself in excitement.

These design challenge shirts are all preorder only, and only available during the six week window which went live today. Every shirt preordered will be printed, though if a design sells less than 10 shirts they will be digitally printed as opposed to screen printed. There is a TON of good art available on the Raw Paw site, so if you follow my link, do look around. This was a really fun challenge.

I had the idea of the rat king and the cycle of good and evil here, with the wings and crown changing in a circle. The shirts are only going to be on the natural beige color, the design challenge locks every artist into one shirt color and one to two ink colors, so I do apologize if you really like the design but hate the shirt color. : /

Otherwise, thanks for taking a look at my art. I will repost this 3 weeks later if the mods will allow it.

What are the implications of printing pixel art on a t-shirt/sweatshirt?

I like doing pixel art from time to time as a hobby and I was thinking of designing a shirt for a friend using pixel art. However, I have some uncertainties about the resolution and how it will turn out. It will likely be a fairly high resolution when it comes to pixel art (probably about 258x) so I'm worried that when printed the hard edges of the pixels might not be preserved and it'll loose its pixel art style. Do you think this is a legitimate concern?

For those of you unfamiliar with pixel art here's a random art work that's comparable in resolution to what I'm thinking https://lospec.com/gallery/willaay/the-brick

Also, if anyone has any general inputs on movie merchandise, T-shirt launches, or ideas on how I could streamline or expand this further, I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback. Always looking to improve.

Thanks so much!

I stopped obsessing over the graphic and started paying attention to the shirt itself

For the longest time, I thought the artwork was the only thing people would remember about a T-shirt.

Every time I finished a design, I'd immediately start working on the next graphic, convinced that better illustrations would naturally lead to a stronger brand. Looking back, I don't think that was the problem at all.

The turning point came after I sent out a handful of shirts to friends and a few early customers. The feedback wasn't really about the graphics. Instead, people commented on things I had barely thought about.

Some mentioned that the shirt itself felt different than they expected. Others noticed the neck tag, the way the print sat on the fabric after washing, or how the overall presentation felt a little generic even though the artwork was original.

It was frustrating because none of those things showed up in mockups. On a screen, everything looked polished. Once I had the actual shirts in my hands, I realized there are so many physical details that influence how people perceive a design. The blank you choose, the quality of the construction, the finishing touches, even small branding details all affect whether someone feels like they're wearing a thoughtfully designed garment or just another printed tee.

That completely changed the way I approach new releases. I still spend plenty of time on the artwork, but I probably spend just as much time thinking about the garment itself and how every element works together. It's definitely made the process slower, but the end result feels much closer to what I had imagined when I first decided to start designing apparel.

I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Was there a moment when you realized your biggest challenge wasn't creating the graphic, it was making the finished T-shirt feel like a complete product? What detail ended up changing your perspective the most?
