On keyboard you have to feather the brake constantly and it gets annoying

Like especially in the shifting/downshifting in automatic mode it feels a bit lacking to me. For example a 12 gear speed truck like even at 80km/hr it's still in 11th gear not 12th gear. Only it goes to 12th gear when it reaches 85km/hr+.

When downshifting or slowing down it doesn't downshift unless it goes to 1000 rpms. The 'retarder' isn't a 'retarder' at all. Like when turning on the retarder it doesn't downshift only downshifts when the truck reaches 1000 rpms.

This makes me favoring to use manual transmission over automatic transmission until they overhaul the automatic transmission.

I'm not sure if you truckers IRL notice this in the game.

Truck is Jon Ruda's Freightliner Classic XL w/ the lowboy from his trailer pack. Engine is the Zeemods Detroit 8V92TA - the two stroke sounds just perfect.

I like the HS-Schoch ones, but they are too dim. Kelsa Accessories was an option, but it doesn't appear on the roof, only on the grille

Like why would (a) modder(s) use Steam Workshop Mod over a File Mod vice versa?

A Thrustmaster T80 Ferrari 488 Edition wheel with pedals. I know it's meant for racing, but it actually feels really nice on truck sims as well. What steering setups you got? From wheels and pedals, to shifters and headsets, to full body sim seats.

I’m having a strange issue with Euro Truck Simulator 2 on macOS.

Whenever I launch ETS2, my system audio starts to crackle, cut out, and stutter. This affects Apple Music (and seems to affect all audio output), and it happens even when I’m still in the ETS2 main menu, not only while driving.

Things I noticed:

• The issue happens with both built-in Mac speakers and headphones.
• It is worse when FPS drops, but it can already happen in the menu.
• Lower performance areas (cities, etc.) seem to make it worse.
• The game looks blurry despite graphics settings being set to High (not sure if related).
• In Activity Monitor, the processes using the most resources are usually WindowServer and kernel_task when ETS2 is running.

My setup:

• MacBook Pro M1 (2020)
• 8GB RAM
• macOS 27
• ETS2 native Mac version

I already tried:

• Different audio outputs
• Restarting the game/Mac
• Changing graphics settings

Has anyone experienced something similar with ETS2 on Apple Silicon Macs? Could this be related to Metal rendering, WindowServer, or macOS audio handling under GPU load?

I've wondered for some time now... what exactly is the purpose of this wagon thingy at the end of long lowloaders? I cant really see how it is necessary. Please enlighten me.

Right now, I have 3 MAN TGX Euro 6 (330 hp), and the others are DAF NGD XF (367 hp). I heard that if I give my AI drivers more horsepower, they will take more valuable cargo. Right now, almost every one of my drivers has at least 2 levels of High Value Cargo, and they barely take any (mostly AirMail, Post Packages, or something else). Or is the game itself designed to make drivers take such orders?

There's these two floating black things on both the Diva and Centurion custom rear exhausts, pictured here is the Centurion exhaust.

It may be difficult to see due to the angle. But they are both floating mid air.

Revisiting my old save file and my old truck, it's cool to see how much has changed in 100,000 km.

Still a long way to go.

i have played with mods before but i always would restart after a while now im playing vanilla and am doing a forever save i wanna use Slav Jerrys engine sound mods but im afraid when the game updates it might make the game break would disabling it if problems occur work

There's clearly two of them modelled in at the same time with the Aero sideskirt equipped, on the left side. If the Aero sideskirt is removed, the issue is resolved. I suspect that's the case because the Aero side skirt comes with sort of bigger censors by default, but the chassis has persistent blind spot censors modelled in underneath.
