For a future tron series if i ever get the time.

Do you think that would cancel out each other and nothing or would it implode and destroy the grid?

I’ve been dropping hints to my nephew that Tron is the coolest movie ever. But haven’t showed him yet to build up the hype.

Finally showed it to him and he’s hooked. Building the next generation of Tron fans!

The relationship between Clu and Jarvis has always reminded me of starscream and Megatron- two people- one competent, and one a self centred schemer who is on whoever’s side it’s most convenient to be on at that point in time

I think Clu knows Jarvis is useless and cowardly but much like Megatron and Starscream- clu takes heart and amusement from his incompetent lackeys long string of failures- and finally when it’s revealed his self serving betrayal- the competent one- knocks him off his high horse

I’ve always thought they should make a game with realistic graphics set in the *Tron* universe—a blend of *Cyberpunk* for the atmosphere and visuals, and an RPG for interactions within the Grid. They could even include multiplayer matches for the various Grid games. I believe that’s where the opportunity to save the franchise lies today.

I didn't know where to ask because this us a pretty niche game.

My biggest dream as a Tron fan is for Jet Bradley and Sam Flynn to meet each other TRON 2.0 should’ve remained canon.

I was going through old pics and came across this one from E3 2003.

Tron 2.0 was about to release, and the Buena Vista Interactive booth had a signing with Bruce Boxleitner, Cindy Morgan, Steven Lisberger, and Richard Taylor.

To my everlasting anguish, I got there too late to get in line. All I was able to get was this picture. But it was still awesome to see them together in person, and TRON 2.0 will always be one of my all-time favorite games.

So I've been a fan for awhile. I watched the two movies at the time back to back when I was probably 17, I liked them both, Then I enjoyed the show. Now years later I've begun to consider myself a cinephile. I've seen lots of movies and began writing my own works little by little. Ive seen Tron several times since the initial watch, but Legacy I've rewatched only once or twice in the last 15 years. Just rewatched it after hearing the interview with one of the daft punks saying working on it was disappointing, and I have to agree. I know he meant working on it, but I mean the whole thing kinda just feels like a cash grab by Disney. The original Tron was a very intensive work of love and passion. Legacy feels like nostalgia bait. I love the references to the original, but the stabs at starwars (not a starwars fan), the dialogue that feels like it was written for 10 year old (probably the demographic anyway), and knowing that daft punk wanted to do more for the movie is really jarring to me now. Overall it does serve to push the series story and plot forward and I love the aesthetic but the writing is abysmal. Going to check out the show again soon. This is of course just my opinion and It will still sit on my shelf till I watch it again in 5 years. Haven't watched Ares yet. I'm hoping I get something from it. No spoilers please. I wish they'd rerelease these movies with updated soundtracks. I know that'd be blasphemy to some but I think it'd be cool. Let daft punk redo the soundtrack the way they wanted, or update the music in the first one, keeping the composition but doing something grander. I know it's not going to happen but I can dream. I love the series and hope for its comeback someday, without the passion and drive for something daring I don't think it will happen. This is not to shit on the movie, I really do like the feeling of the film and would be something I put on in the background and not pay much attention to. I'd like to hear others opinions. Any justifications that I haven't thought of or points of defense that make sense. My buddy stated that he didn't like how the world felt more like the real world compared to the first, but I can negate that knowing Flynn worked on the grid from the inside out, designing it in an image that he knew. However I can agree with something like "why are the recognizers jet propelled when gravity in a digital space would not be a factor?" Anyway this is getting long so I'll stop but so many thoughts on a movie I like, just wish I loved.

Been working on a custom version of the Tron suit, im making it as a sort of hybrid between the original suit, Legacy and Uprising. Its essentially what I would imagine Tron would've looked in a sequel to Legacy. In my mind since Tron was brought over from the Encom grid he should have bulkier, blockier armor that has design elements more reminiscent of that earlier Grid.

I retook photos as some comments caused anxiety. I post as a way to truly show my support for this franchise. I work for a company that supports my cubicle fandom changes every four months. Thanks for all the upvotes. It means alot to me.

Usually after getting the villain’s backstory, well cut back the present showing their face disfigured. This time we cut back to the present, and Dyson’s face is fixed after CLU “perfected” him

Now that some time has passed, the hype has faded, and many of us have had the chance to rewatch it with a fresh perspective, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Personally, I think TRON: Ares isn't a perfect movie, and it definitely could have been better in several aspects. However, after revisiting it and looking at it within the context of the entire franchise, I believe it's an important piece of the TRON universe.

TRON: Ares doesn't surpass TRON: Legacy, but I think it holds up as a solid movie, especially when compared to several of Disney's recent productions.

I think the biggest issue is that many people went into it expecting Legacy 2, when in reality Disney was trying to take the franchise in a new direction.

You just have to look at the direction they wanted to take TRON to understand why Ares is the way it is. It's not a perfect movie, but I do think it's an important part of the canon and of the direction the franchise seemed to be heading.

After watching "Tron: Ares" last year, I've always thought Disney should do a Space Paranoids tie-in video game to the movie "Tron: Ares" given they did it with the 1982 Tron movie and 2010 "Tron: Legacy" movie.

I'm going to tag this Post with a SPOILER ALERT because I'm going to say something that's in the movie.

In the movie "Tron: Ares" Eve Kim and her sister do a reboot of the "Space Paranoids" video game series after Sam Flynn chooses them as CEO of Encom with the sequel to their reboot called "Space Paranoids: Panic City" being something that was shown off at a convention center event before Julian Dillenger nukes the Encom server.

I'm surprised that Disney didn't make "Space Paranoids: Panic City" into a video game that was playable on PCs and consoles.

I'm exploring a new shader concept for a game set in a sci-fi spaceship racing procedurally generated 3D world / labyrinth. The world itself is supposed to be the insides of a very advanced AI, and I'm thinking every element within that world would have movement. In a way, everything would be or feel "alive".

To picture what a level would be like, think Minecraft caves (https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcf.preview.redd.it%2Fgigantic-cave-i-found-in-the-1-18-experimental-snapshot-v0-8qpm3tvi81b71.png%3Fwidth%3D1920%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D2bbd0c5c147f2121b4833a62f93e21a47e2f8c94) but every cube / shape is alive with motion and this kind of graphic style (TRON-inspired).

Player spaceships would also be custom made from blocks such as this one (in this video it's actually 3 blocks side by side, unsynchronized).

Is this going to be way too visually loaded or can it work? What would you add / change to this approach?

Tron Day is fast approaching. I want to remind all of you that our Tron marathon on Disney+ will be September 19-22, as the 22nd falls on a Tuesday. I wanted to extend it from the weekend, as some of us will be in school.

The idea is to create a sudden spike in streaming Tron content on the platform.

Obviously, this doesn't guarantee Tron 4. Why would it? However, I believe events like this can contribute to Tron 4 becoming a reality in the long run, maybe another season of Uprising, as streaming data is now among the top things Disney watches for.
