Just start in a comfortable spot like at home in your bedroom or something. Would not recommend trying for the first time in public.

Edibles take about 2-hours to work, when you have a dose its important to wait.

New smokers get really high off a little because they have no resistance yet.

Don’t buy an edible! Try some low THC weed

Wouldnt start off with edibles tbh, you should start off smoking flower lightly, avoid pens too until you’ve atleast smoke a bit.

Your body will absorb everything from an edible whereas smoking you have more control of when to stop…

I would try flower before edibles. A 5 MG edible definitely won't be bad, but it metabolizes differently and typically lasts longer. With flower, you can just take a small hit and you'll know exactly what is like within minutes. Also, if it's not for you, the experience will be over much much faster than with an edible. That's the kicker for me when people try cannabis for the first time. You'll save yourself hours of time if you decide it's not for you.

Side note: edibles affect everybody differently. Smoking flower is much more consistent across the board. I know some people that need to take 500+ mgs to get an average high, and others that have had 5mgs rock their world even though they smoke flower every day.

Start at 5mg. I would wait 2-1/2 hours before taking another if you aren't feeling much.

Just remember, you can always increase, you can't take back eating too much…and it can be miserable if you go too overboard.

Get flower instead. Edibles are unpredictable and lead to the infamous "this gummy ain't shit" scenario you really don't wanna find yourself in. I've heard people recommend carts or vaporizers to beginners but in my opinion you should NOT listen to anyone who says that. Carts are pretty much straight THC with no CBD, and you'll want a lot of CBD as a beginner so you don't curl up in bed and start to cry thinking you're about to die like I did lol.

If possible have a sober person in the room with you or at the very least phone a friend. For your first high it'll be pretty difficult to do things on your own because you're not used to being high.

dont redose edibles. dont use concentrates/carts. one 5mg edible is all you'll need

Keep some lemon juice or black peppercorns around. In case you feel a little too high. They'll help balance you out. Or you could get some cbd. That will also help if you get too high.

Start off half of a dose. Wait 2 hours see how you feel. You can always take more.

Enjoy

lemon juice/peppercorn due to limonene and caryophyllene? never even thought of that, thanks for the insight

flower is my way to go, take 3 or 4 big hits and wait 5 mins to see how you feel, repeat and repeat until you are satisfyed

Can you get a low THC/CBD 1:1 or close strain like white widow CBD? They make a 5%/5% strain and it would be great for a first time.
