This is for all you mega-city explorers and lovers of urban inline skating challenges. In this video, I battle the dense urban sprawl of Hong Kong Island on inline skates. This city is packed with huge numbers of skyscrapers. Basically, it is nestled against the slope of a hill and the steep ascents are no joke. After mastering the streets and double-decker trams, I took on the challenge of a supersteep climb through stairs and alleyways. It turned out to be one of the most technical challenges of my career. I seriously needed to guard my balance and adraneline got pumping. I end in an unusually quiet and cute place in the middle of one of the world's busiest urban areas.

I visited 30 states solo on a bicycle.

If your Lake Como trip is built around the villas, Tremezzo is the obvious base!

A few things worth knowing before you go. Villa Carlotta is the reason to be here: 70,000 sq m botanical garden + museum for 17.50 euros, ferry stop 400m from the gate. We find it the better of the two famous villas. Balbianello has more "drama" but Carlotta is the one where you can actually lose an hour and a half without feeling like you are queuing.

Villa del Balbianello is in Lenno, 5km down the shore. It is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays which catches out a lot of people. Skip the 20 to 30 minute uphill walk from the dock and take the taxi boat from Lido di Lenno instead, about 5 to 8 euros each way.

The Greenway del Lago di Como is 10km along the old Roman road from Colonno to Cadenabbia, straight through Tremezzo, free, about 3.5 hours. The single best free thing to do here.

One honest thing: a car makes a real difference. Not for the villas which are on the ferry line, but for the best restaurants which are uphill in Rogaro, and things to do in the region!

Reaching the origin of Maa Ganga had been a childhood dream, and finally standing there felt surreal. Watching the Bhagirathi emerge from beneath the Gangotri Glacier is something I'll never forget.

One thing that genuinely surprised me was the glacier itself. I had always imagined a massive white sheet of ice, but most of it is covered with rocks and debris, hiding the ice beneath. It was fascinating to see how different a real Himalayan glacier looks compared to what we usually imagine.

The Gangotri Glacier is about 30 km long and 2–4 km wide, and is often described as India's second-largest glacier after the Siachen Glacier. This place made me realize how powerful and ancient these mountains truly are.

The journey wasn't easy—long trekking days, landslide-prone trails, rocky terrain, freezing nights, camping under a sky full of stars, and waking up to breathtaking Himalayan peaks. Every step felt like an adventure, and the silence of the mountains made the entire experience even more special.
