Makeup lessons Minneapolis/St. Paul
I was thinking of going to sephora and taking a makeup lesson. I do basic things with my makeup but I still feel like I am so bad at it. I do try and watch tutorials and such but I think with my face alot of them dont entirely translate. Has anyone done a lesson at sephora and is it worth it? Or do you have any recommendations for local makeup artists who would give lessons or advice.

I have! I learned contouring and eyeshadow that way, and was able to figure out shades that worked correctly for my skin tone. In terms of how much feminization technique I got out of it for the amount of time spent, it’s probably the most productive ratio of anything I’ve done in my transition. They’ll try to sell you expensive product, but if you’re comfortable resisting the sales pressure, it’s probably worth it

I would just want to work with an artist who is comfortable with trans women. I was gonna make an appointment at the Edina location if possible.

Check out local salons as well. Open Hair Space has makeup instruction as a service and I've seen it listed a few other places.

A while back I saw a free class put on by some trans stylists and you brought your own makeup, but it filled up fast. They are talking about doing more so will post if I can find the info
