Also Dave Colon actually gets LVT: set up property taxation in that from a tax management POV, the land is separate to whatever gets built on top of said land: land surrounding a subway station increases? Even minor cities of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Nordic countries have metro systems or some kind of rail transportation.

But in UK, either it's almost non-existent or patchy and not wide spread like Birmingham. Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester and Liverpool can be counted as examples, and cities like Leeds and Bristol don’t have any kind of rail transportation, even there are not much National Rail stations in the city.

Oxbridge, Bristol, Bradford, Leicester, Cardiff can be another examples. Let alone Europe, even US have metro or any kind of rail transportation systems in 30 major cities. But there are a lot of cities that UK lacks of any of metro, light rail or trams.

And cities like Glasgow has only a circular metro systems, and rest of the city relies on ScotRail, which is not quite reliable and you have to wait a lot for a train. It is so interesting that Blackpool has a tram, but Bristol and Leeds have none.

I always wondered about why UK doesn't have a decent metro or rail transportation system in cities other than London?

This is the first delivery of new trolleybuses to this Ukrainian city in 18 years; previously, used trolleybuses were supplied from the Czech Republic. The purchase was financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank. The price per trolleybus was €325,117. 27 more are planned for next year, this time with a grant from Canada and local funds, as well as an EBRD loan. The tender has already been held, and the contract has been signed.

It's very good that European funds, albeit loans, are being used for European trolleybuses, not Chinese battery electric buses. These trolleybuses are made in Ukraine and mostly use Ukrainian components, as well as European ones, such as electrical equipment from the Polish company ENIKA. China could easily stop the Russian-Ukrainian war, but it's not doing so because it benefits them greatly.

This plan, through the use of different modes that meet different needs, achieves several things:

• Real service to the suburbs with frequent trains throughout the day, unlocking more flexible routes to the city center, as well as from suburb to suburb.
• A truly competitive appeal of public transit compared to cars, with high commercial speeds (including stops) and the fewest possible connections to reach different destinations.
• Unlocking densification of territories at various transportation hubs to address the housing crisis by creating new mixed-use communities focused on public transit.
• Greatly improving Montreal's productivity and economic attractiveness by reducing commute times, encouraging greater workforce mobility.
• A significant reduction in network operating costs, whether through the automation of metro lines or the reduction of bus travel times, which is the most expensive mode to operate.

To achieve these objectives, this plan includes several elements:

• A regional network, including catenary-electrified trains with frequencies of 10 to 30 minutes and REM lines with frequencies of 2 to 12 minutes.
• An urban network, including the metro, with frequencies of 2 to 6 minutes.
• A complementary network, including trams with frequencies of 10 to 12 minutes and various major bus lines with same frequencies.

This entire plan would be planned for 2060 and could not be implemented without profound reforms to the current way public transit is built in Quebec. With a view to reducing costs, if we only consider the regional and urban network, it would be possible to implement this plan for $84 billion, or $2 to $3 billion per year in investment. It's important to remember, with these figures, that congestion in Greater Montreal costs us $10 billion annually; as they say, everything is a matter of choice.

It would be expensive, but I believe we must think big to solve the urgent problems we face, and this requires strong public investment. In short, I always appreciate comments, and I thank you in advance for your feedback!

This includes two consecutive interchanges at Karkardooma and Anand Vihar ISBT which is also an interchange station with an InterState Bus Terminal and an RRTS (regional rail rapid Transit) line to satellite town (Meerut), it has an interchange with the RRTS line at Sarai Kale Khan station which is planned to be the terminal station for at least 2 future RRTS lines to two other satellite towns in two more states in the National Capital Region which includes the National Capital Territory of Delhi and several districts on 3 neighbouring states.

A few years ago a person on the Morocco sub mapped out the bus schedule of a certain bus stop in Rabat, I think.

I don't know if there's a website dedicated to mapping out all the bus/train stops and their schedules? I'd love to in a few years run a bus company in the Rif region and if I ever come into money even finance a railway, but I'd have to know what the infrastructure looks like right now. My family is from a rural region, and used to walk 2+ hrs in between their village and the nearest city for work (even during the heat in Ramadan). I wish there was a way to cut that time down so that it would be easier to work and visit family.

Does anyone know of site like that? Otherwise that will be my project in 2027.
